I will be applying to ISB through the EEO, just wanted to know does ISB treat it any differently if you have an offer letter in your hand to complete the 2 years work ex or it is fine even though you dont hold one?

Hi AG2907

This depends on where you are in the cycle. If you have just graduated, it may not matter much. However, if you've graduated 6 months+ ago, showing employability is important to gain the work experience that ISB will look for later.

Which is the best admission consultant for ISB?
I took help of some ISB alums since they’ve been on both sides of the table and it was extremely helpful. You can DM me and I can help you connect with those alums!

Thanks for sharing this question. Quite an important one actually.

Case 1: You have decent academics in undergrad, and a fairly well rounded profile with decent work exp, few extra-curriculars
Then 690 should not be a major hindrance for you. My suggestion would be to work on your application simultaneously, finish it up asap, and then focus with full force on improving the gmat. if that happens, then great. If not, even then you should be able to apply in R1.

Case 2: You don’t have decent acads, or have low work exp, or no extra-curriculars or you are a reapplicant with the same score last year - essentially that you are heavily reliant on a great gmat score.
Then 690 might not be enough. My suggestion then would be to first get the target score. Once done, then look at which round to apply in.

In most cases, one month is sufficient for a well-rounded application. Many individuals start early due to applying to multiple schools, which requires additional time.

Hi all, has anyone used admission consulting services? If yes, are they worth it?
I’d also appreciate if you can name a few.
Thanks.

We are a boutique admissions consulting firm, focused only on top MBA programs… our candidates have previously received admits from 5 M7 schools, LBS, HEC Paris, Insead, and other top schools. For ISB we had an 80% interview invite rate last year - 19 out of 23 apps.

Now to answer your question-
It’s the wrong question to ask. Those who have succeeded with consultants will say yes, those who succeeded on their own, will say no. Either way, you won’t be able to make a judgement.

My suggestion to candidates is always to first figure out why do you want a consultant? If you have that clear, you be better able to identify who to work with.

If you don’t have that clarity, you’ll end up wasting crucial time which you could have utilised for your applications.
