It still exists in diversity pools- lots of things happening there, might be worth a look (Non-Overrepresented). I really was going to check in with business schools on this myself coz how it is interesting that I was sharing class and teams with people as an overrepresented guy who is constantly providing and helping them grow but literally not getting any growth of my own- at least not without getting insulted.
Here’s a little rant lol -But "it seems" as if they are saying the candidates that they hired from a rich country born into riches had a harder life than someone born in a country with lack of resources. Apparently some of the candidate from the diversity pool born into riches have a very interesting argument. According to her, she had a hard life growing up because she never got what she wanted because "I wanted an SLS AMG and got a C class mercedes on the 18th birthday". I am just so glad that I am not one of those. ORM or whatever, I don’t wanna live an embarrassing life, coming up on chats with baseless reasons and then expect others to really take me seriously. But then again, I don’t blame all the overrepresented guys to be smarter than the rest of the class- requirements are so high that you automatically get taken seriously when you talk. That was the best part - you can easily shut the less talented ones down because the case arguments become embarrassing sometimes.

It is unfortunate that Indians are filtered out even with great profiles simply because they are over represented and not because they are less talented. While in the name of diversity many colleges end up taking at least 40% of class alone from US (which has much higher per capita income than India).

I know it is a sad truth then there are consultants out there in the US who are kinda sadistic really, they like enjoying seeing the pain of a group of people who have already been through real hardships. You will also be surprised how interesting the turn on diversity has been in the US.
During my second year, I started working at a gym part time on campus. They are so far gone in terms of not hiring for competence that I actually had to explain my boss how things need to run and how just by looking at someone people will easily tell that person is not cut out to run a gym. If you go to a 5 star restaurant, and you see the waiter being unhygienic with worn out clothes, you obviously won’t wanna pay for the food. Gym is not a place run by people who like to whine about how hard it is to work out so we’ll just sit back and promote obesity. I am all for upliftment of communities but come on people, it is common sense that you have to be competent. (I had a reputation for what meryl streep had the reputation for in devil wears prada- but in my defense, if you set the bar high for me, I know how to set standards too. Their opinions never accounted for anything anyways. I don’t even remember how many times people that attempted to harass me psychologically had to be told- "I grew up as an Indian guy, we don’t really get bothered by small stuff." But they needed a therapist every time I ended up raising a logical point.)
