Some schools are serious about waitlist movement.
Many of the other schools that waitlist a large majority may not be that way.

Hey user8221 ! Congratulations on the interview invite. Great surprise from NYU! Getting an interview invite after being waitlisted is a great sign, it means the school sees potential and is seriously reconsidering your candidacy. This could be due to some shifts in the applicant pool or a fresh review of your profile. Since you didn’t send updates, your interview is now your biggest opportunity to make an impact. Prepare well and make it count by clearly answering about your post-mba goals, what you can offer in the class/community and showing strong school fit. If asked about the waitlist, acknowledge it positively and express genuine enthusiasm for the program. You can take a look at this BLOG. All the very best!
You can prepare for questions like:
1. Something related to Pick 6 answers.
2. About your work, current project, how you manage it? outcome?
3. Why MBA? Why NYU Stern?
4. Professional achievement?
5. What type of leader are you?
6. How would your collegues describe you? about working style?
7. What's your plan B? POST-MBA?
8. How are you going to engage with Stern community?
9. Anything we haven't covered?
10. Questions for the interviewer
11. Any updates in your profile in the meantime.(new project, learning, impact)

When does NYU typically start sending interview invites? Understand its rolling and could be any time until April 1st for R3 but what is realistic? Submitted mine around 12th Jan for R3 so am curious at it seems many others should come out sometime soon.
