Hi Amav,

No score guarantees an admit.

You should. however, aim for a score in excess of 675 on the GMAT.

All the best!

Hello albert_jokelin,

Good to see that you are targeting a higher GMAT score as your current score is well under the average.

The work experience is on the lower side; ideally, to have your best chance, waiting for another year, and applying with an additional year of experience will make sense.

All the best!

Hi All,

Gap Years (2 Years):
- Prepared for UPSC CSE from July 2023 to June 2025
ok. Am assuming you are not working currently. You might find the following article useful:

Career-gap for Civil Services Preparation
Quote:
Questions:
1. How does my profile ranks, given the diverse experiences but the gap years!?
2. Shall I take the GMAT again, or 675 is enough?
As discussed in the article, the gap would not be an issue.

As for GMAT, if you were scoring higher than 675 in your mocks, it would not hurt to appear once more; else, don't bother, since 675 is a decent score.

Hi @WA@dvw853,

Consultants have their own policies; some help you with building your profile in case you enrol early and even allow you to defer if you do not get your target score. It is best to clarify the process before enrolling.

All the best!

Do MBA consultants have a deadline for aspirants? As in do we need to enrol with them before a particular date? I enrolled once but didn’t get desired gre so that enrolment in a way went waste as I didn’t apply to any mba program . So now I want to get gre first and then enrol with a consultant

What about the impact of low grades in 10th and 12th ??
What should be the target score for me as per my profile for ISB ?

Hi arpit777,

A 700+ GMAT FE score will be stellar; however, that your GMAT will coincide with your employment gap is going to raise questions that you will need to candidly address in your application.

Barring the current gap, you have a lot working for you. So, your chances really depend on how well you bring all your strengths together in your essays and how smoothly you explain your gap.

All the best!

ISB does not ask for class 10 grades.

Yes, I am not working currently. Thanks for sharing the article.
I scored 695 in the 4 mocks, consistently. [I didn’t study much for GMAT]
Not that it matters, but I had troubles with mouse on the GMAT Exam day, it was too fast for what I was used to. Bulldozed my DI section.

I have filled the lead on your website for further connect.

Target a 675+, since that was the median last year.

Hi arpit777,

Considering you are targeting a 700+ on the GMAT FE, it will be enough to offset your low scores in school. So, do not worry about that much.

All the best!

Hi VIGupta,

There isn't anything like a "required score" per se; aim for a score in excess of 685 on the GMAT because you represent an over-represented pool of applicants; your chances will depend on how you present your overall profile, as well. But, the GMAT is your only controllable at this point (barring the essays ofcourse) so the higher you score the better it will be.

Thanks.
VIGupta
