hey all, just an fyi for those posting questions along the lines of:

"I'm from region x, can anyone tell me when invites for region x started coming out last year?"

all you need to do is look at last year's "calling all..." thread--that is what the people who magically know the answers are doing. it's pretty informative, and generally reassuring to see that they keep on coming out thru january (assuming you survive ding day of course).

sorry i can't post the link (<5 posts) but just enter 'mit 2010' in the search bar up top and you'll find it easily enough. the invites start on page 14.

congrats to those with invites in hand. fingers still crossed here in philly...

Sexonthebeach, I certainly wasn't asking for any kind of reassurance, and am in fact glad to hear you balancing out the feedback, particularly backing it up with hard data (your quote from Rod regarding the cover letter). I simply thought I would post it as sometimes individuals here are far more knowledgable than I, have followed MBA admissions for more time than I might have, and thus might have some direct experience with the matter, or perhaps heard Rod directly address the issue. That's all.

Vis-a-vis stats, I am fully aware that they are in no way the end all be all, and would humbly direct you to the "for what its worth" statement I had above them. They also were by no means posted as a way of "looking for reassurance". Just was putting mine out there as many have done in the past. I'm in range, so are 90%+ of those on the board it would appear, and as you rightly state plenty more goes into it. Thus ill add, to address your point 2), that*for what it's worth*, my undergrad institution is Cornell University.

Hope you accept my apologies if for whatever reason the whole issue came across as whiny or panicky..again I was just threw it out there to see if any had heard the issue directly addressed. I frankly had assumed that my app would be delayed to R2 and was pleased just to have it even included in R1.

Understood, and no need to apologize. I just wanted to temper the rest of the comments because I haven't read anywhere a true indication on late apps - some schools say they'll accept, HRH Dee has famously said she doesn't - but who knows how they view them, and it may vary by your reviewing depending on her/his beliefs, that's all.

P.S. I went to Cornell too. Good luck.

"Fellow students, if you've already received an interview invitation and will be interviewed for next Thursday (12/16), next next Monday (12/20) or Tuesday (12/22), you'll be meeting me ~ I am participating in (the) interview lunch as (a) student ambassador. Good luck to everyone~

The interviews for Asia will be sent out in two weeks. no need to panic, just patiently wait for it."

Hopefully, this sheds some light to those LOCATED in Asia. For those located in the northeast (American or not), we should hear something soon, if not... :shock:

I don't think your citizenship matters (especially since MIT Sloan is 50% international). I think invites go out strictly based on where you live at the time of your application. If I were from Asia but living in Australia, I would interview when they went to Australia.
