Please explain the answer for Quest No.3

Official Explanation

3. Which of the following is not true as per the passage?

Difficulty Level: 550

Main Point: Describe a study being carried out to use AI for reducing train delays.

(A) Out of Scope: Can be inferred. … Both the data points will then be fed to the AI system that can analyze the data…

(C) The passage does not discuss the cost aspect of the AI system being planned. Hence, this choice cannot be inferred.

(D) Out of Scope: It has been mentioned in the passage. Even after all the progress we have made, we have not been able to solve this problem.

(E) Out of Scope: It has been mentioned in the passage. …the AI system that can analyze the data to find out the likely areas of congestion, and accordingly, can route the passengers so that the overall congestion can be reduced to a significant extent.

Hi All,

Please explain the answer for question no 2.

As per my understanding it is no where mentioned that "Dr Angelov" states "Passenger behavior" as a reason for the delay, it was as per author.

Check the 4th line as it says
“ According to Plamen Angelov, a researcher from the University of Lancaster, train delays are caused not by the operators but by the passengers.”

This is stated in the passage, so the correct answer is D

Kudos if you like, thanks

plz explain question no. 1

Explanation

1. What is the main point of the passage?

Difficulty Level: 500

Explanation

A. This option is not the main point of the passage. While the passage discusses a problem (train delays) that affects both developed and developing countries, it does not aim to discuss all the problems faced by these countries. The primary focus is on one specific problem (train delays) and a proposed solution using AI.

B. The passage does mention Dr. Angelov's plan to use AI to address train delays, but the primary purpose of the passage is not to evaluate this plan. Instead, it presents the plan as a potential solution to a long-standing problem without going into detailed evaluation or analysis.

C. This option is not the main point of the passage either. While the passage mentions the cause of train delays (passenger behavior) and suggests a technological solution, it does not delve into a detailed description of why the problem could not be solved in the past.

D. The passage does briefly describe passenger behavior as a contributing factor to train delays, but it does not primarily focus on discussing passenger behavior. The main point of the passage is to introduce the problem of train delays and propose a technological solution using AI.

E. This is the correct answer. The passage's main point is to introduce the problem of train delays (a long-standing problem) and explain a plan proposed by Dr. Angelov to address this problem using AI technology. The passage outlines the problem and the potential solution, making this the central theme of the passage.

In summary, option E accurately captures the main point of the passage by emphasizing the description of a long-standing problem (train delays) and the proposed technological solution to address that problem.
