Hey Guys!
as all of you, I got various offers and I am heavily contemplating which one to accept. First some facts:
I am a German looking to study abroad, Canada or US.
Roughly 4 Years WE in different departments, mainly accounting (2 years) in construction industry.
I want to switch into product management (brand management) and switch industries (hell of a double switch! lol)
So NOW I sit here and am not sure which school to go to. Curretnly, both Sauder and Owen offer Scholarships and come down to the same price ( so money doesn't matter atm)
Here are my thoughts:
Sauder:
Pros:
-small program
-lot of internationals
-long internship
-great product management track
-great city
-16 months
Cons:
-not "that high ranked"
-Canada job market might be a problem (?)
-employment rate and salary after graduation
Owen
Pros:
-strong career services center
-great PM track
-relatively small prog
-top 30 B-School
-great city (even though not as great as Vancouver)
Cons:
-Visas in the U.S.
I am not sure where I will go after my graduation (back to Germany/Europe?? or stay in the US/Canada) and whether this should influence my decision (Visas...).
Additionally, my girlfriend wants to come with me. As far as I can tell this, the job market for her in Nashville might be better (she will be looking for controlling / sales controlling in a senior position), though the visas are hard to get. But I don't know if it is such a big difference between Canada and the US.
Have you guys got any thoughts on this? I appreceiate anything!
Currently, I am leaning towards Owen and Nashivlle; however, still waiting for Gerogetown on Friday.
Thanks guys and good luck with your decisions!
Regards
Dolan
