I have been getting some PMs from other members asking about advice and tip for UCLA Anderson --- I imagine they were actually asking about MBA admissions in general.
I've been going through final exams as well as holiday travels so I have not yet had the time to reply individually.
Rather than replying individually, I'm going to address some of the issues raised.
Question: I have a relatively low GMAT score compared to my peers. Do I have a shot?
Answer: Ask yourself why the adcom should select you over a person who has a similar background but has higher GMAT score. You need to craft a compelling story so that you convince the adcom that you will add to the overall experience of that particular school (UCLA Anderson or not).
Question: Any advice for interviews?
Answer: Again, craft a compelling story why you want to get an MBA. Honestly, as long as you don't F-up the interview, the interview likely will not be a factor. Be yourself and have a coherent thought process of why you need to get an MBA at a particular school. You should be golden.
Question: I have xxx, xxx, and xxx profile, do you think I'll get in?
Answer: No clue, just make sure that you don't apply during round 3 when schools are trying to round out a class.
