Any idea how soon we need to get started on the documentation? As I understand, the following details need to be provided to USC...
1. Official transcripts
2. Verified degree from IERF
3. Passport copy
4. Financial Statement
5. Official scores - GMAT and TOEFL
6. Deposit (15th Feb.)

I got the admissions packet with the fellowship information. Generous, but not as generous as UCI. USC would be my choice though. How much should I let this influence where I go? How can I approach trying to get a little more money?

Guys, did anyone of you go thru IERF verification process?
Looks like they need all original marks sheets, transcripts and certificate in post.
What is the document return process? I am a bit hesitant to send all the original documents.

Thanks

Great to see the networking beginning already and congratulations! I was in your shoes last year -- feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. As a 1st year student and an MBA Ambassador for my program, I'm happy to help.

Sure, send me a PM and I will share my contact information. My experience at Marshall has been quite fulfilling to say the least. I turned down multiple scholarships (including full-tuition) to attend USC. Looking back it's the best decision I made. I noticed someone else with a similar dilemma. To those in similar situations I would say, although scholarships clearly play a pivotal role in the decision making process, I urge you to take a holistic view in considering your final destination. While you may contribute a larger sunk cost compared to a program that provides you with a scholarship, those savings inevitably dwindle when considering long-term ROI in terms of starting salary, diversity of available job functions and on-campus recruitment, strength of the brand, and future success of your peers/alumni (an oft over-looked aspect!).

Thank you!! I am in a similar dilemma with full ride from other college and nothing at USC :)..
USC is not cheap either.. Perhaps everything comes with a California premium:)..

Thanks

Guys, when are you planning to move to LA and how are you searching for place to stay?
Culver city and downtown seems to be most recommend but I am not sure how easy it will be to commute from there..
Also for laptop - I will carry my McBook pro, and will see the new surface when it launches in September.
I hope having a MAC will not be an issue with all the different software we need to use for class.

Depending on where you live in Culver City, you could take the Expo line, which takes you to USC. The commute is bearable (~45 - 1 hr in traffic), it really just depends on the time of day. I'm currently in DTLA and getting to USC is a breeze!

Do you have a car/are planning on driving?

I am waiting on the MacBook update that should be coming this month or the following months. Leaning toward the MacBook Pro with retina but if they have an Air with Retina that I will take one of those. If software is a problem, I would just slap Windows onto the Mac since we would probably get it through USC IT. I love the durability and build quality of Macs though the Dell XPS 13 that came out at the end of last year looks really tempting.
I live in Santa Ana already so I will be making the drive. Call me crazy but I do enjoy being in my car with some podcasts. Other places I might consider living in would be Huntington Park? Hard to tell but just sticking along the 10 fwy seems to be the most popular way to go.
