I wanted to take a test cold to see how far the journey would be (shooting for 700+).. I was expecting 400-500, but actually ended up with a 570! Q31 V38
As I expected, I was weak in quant, but imo that is much easier to improve than verbal.
Of the quant questions I missed, 8/19 were DS and 3-4 were geometry and the rest were just random/silly mistakes. Those damn DS questions are super tricky.. I also finished the quant section with 10 minutes remaining.. probably should have taken some more time with some of those questions!
On the verbal section, I missed 9 questions. 1 was a silly mistake (read answer incorrectly), 1 was a tricky RC, and the remaining 7/9 were SC. The last question I missed because I didn't even have time to read it and had to guess
I bought the OG12, the MGMAT books, and the OG Verbal and Quant books. Starting my studying either this week or early next week.
I'm planning to take the test on March 17, shooting for 700+!
I'm a second semester senior, so hopefully I'll find some solid time to study each day (I'm taking 17 hours unfortunately).
Any comments/suggestions are welcome. As for my study plan, I will probably just do the plan posted on this site... Really gunning for that 150 point improvement!

It sounds like you have a very good chance at a 700+ after some studying.
I suggest that you first through the MGMAT books to find out exactly which types of questions are covered in the GMAT. Then you should work through the OG 20-30 questions at a time, and carefully review any questions you got wrong and any questions you feel unsure of. These review sessions is when you should take the time to read any applicable MGMAT sections in depth. When you're done with the OG, you should take the 2nd GMATprep test and hopefully by then you'll be ready to go for the real thing.
It took me only around ~15-20 hours to complete everything I listed above, and I felt like this strategy covered all of the most important prep material for a 700++ score.

that's a really nice verbal score, especially for a GMAT beginner. In a sense, an increase in verbal section score makes your overall score jump higher. If I were, you I would focus more on Quantitative section than Verbal...although you should get into 40s to end up well. The books you got are perfect. Make an error log for all the OG questions you did wrong. Put a lot effort in studying and do not get complacent because of your good score. You still have to hit the books hard. But I think if that you can do it.
By the way, I think when you learn more about D-S from your MGMAT guides, you will not find those question that hard and tricky. Good luck!
