Hey All,

I would like to get my profile evaluated. I have not yet given my GMAT. My GMAT is scheduled on 8th April in Bangkok, Thailand.

Expected GMAT score- 670-680 ( as per practice tests)

Brief of my profile goes like this

Nationality- Indian/ Age- 25
10th Class - 93% ( Merit Holder)
12th Class - 88 %
B.Tech (Mechanical) - CGPA 8.2/10 from IIT Gandhinagar
Internship in B.Tech - Underwriters Laboratory, Chicago, USA
Current Experience- 3 years in a MNC
Position- Manager, working as production analyst in a manufacturing company.
Job Location - 8 months in Turkey & in Thailand since last 2 years (on going)

Can you please suggest me the possible university i can get admitted to ? :o

Thanks
Shubham

With an 8.2 from IIT (even though not the top IIT) I would expect you to definitely break 700 on the GMAT. That said, if you do not, you are looking at schools in the 10-20 ranking with your profile. Depending on how much leadership you have had at work and how well you do on your GMAT, you may be able to crack top 10. As an Indian with a sub 700 GMAT, it is tough to reach a top 10 school to be honest.

Good luck and if you want further guidance, feel free to send me an email and I will look at your profile further: [email protected]

Best,
Scott

Hi Shubham,

I will do a 1+ on what Scott says - as an IIT grad, I definitely have much higher GMAT expectations from you :)

That said, a few more details are important in order to make a comprehensive evaluation - the brand name of your company and, more importantly, what role you had there - nature of leadership activities, leadership in the community - all of these figure in.

With a GMAT score below 800, I would slot you in the 20+ ranked schools category - but you have the potential to do much better.

Regards,
Karthik

Hi Shubham,

Along with your GMAT score, it is very important to factor in your post MBA goals and the kind of companies you want to target.

Thanks all for your replies !

Karthik : I have my GMAT scheduled on 8th April, however i am planning to delay it for 12 days as we have a 5 days long public holidays stretch. I hope this would help me improve some points.

I am doing decently well in Maths, with consistent Q49 score. However, verbal is a major issue for me. I am struggling in verbal with V30-V32 points in various practice tests.

Please suggest me something. I am currently going through Manhattan CR book for CR improvement, as this is my one big weakness.

You could try Powerscore's CR bible.
