Hi strangelrose, there is not an abundance of Moroccan ladies applying to business school and so you do have that as your trump card.. I really urge you to invest as much time and energy you need into your GMAT preparation, the difference between a 650 and a 700 is significant. if you have any inclination towards a global career I urge you to apply to INSEAD and LDS as well, maybe HEC. UK/ European schools are much friendlier towards older candidates they have lower GMAT standards but require more work experience. It's a little bit difficult to really evaluate your chances because I'm not able to discern the leadership factor in your job. If you have some strong anecdotes that point to impact problem solving teamwork leadership initiative all of that stuff then it will be a much easier process getting in. That is if you are able to articulate all of that sparklingly in your CV, essays, recommendation talking points, and application boxes. I like the fact that you have a long-range goal that is in the same industry, it makes you look a little more marketable and less of a risk from the standpoint of career services. The trick is to making sure you're choosing a goal that will require an MBA but also that you would be offering something of value to your future employer based on your background. Hope this helps. que tous vos souhaits soient réalisés :)

Thank you, I had my master in a French school so I would prefer to avoid european schools however INSEAD is in my list. I do have lot of examples that showcase my leadership potential I am planning to use them in my essays and applications I still have to structure my "why" in the essays

Hello fatimazahrafahes

You have a lot going in your favor in terms of Diversity and Work Ex (although explain your achievements in more detail)
Low GPA can be compensated with a good GMAT- for you 700 will give you a fighting score.
Your goals look sorted, although outcome will be decided on how strong your written application is.
US Top 10 will be a stretch (as they are for everyone) but I would encourage you to shortlist the right set of schools (research well) and apply. If you write great a application/essay- you will stand a good chance.
Canada schools will be much easier for you looking at your background. I mean you will have to really screw up in your essays to not get an interview call.
At the cost of repeating myself- put your best in your written application- you have a very interesting profile no doubt.

All the best.

Love the diversity in your profile, I would say that is probably your biggest advantage so make sure it shows upon application. Especially if you hit the higher end of your GMAT score goal and can bring out excellent essays, I would say that your chances are decent in some of the top schools, although not all. (Remember, you also need to convince the adcoms of the fact that you want to study at their school in particular and show fit with them, so to speak, so it will be important to choose the schools you apply to carefully so you can do that)

If I were you I would really look into some European schools as well, they don’t have to be in France, if you want to avoid another French degree, but the UK, Spain etc. could be good options for you, as already mentioned.

Thank you for your feedback. I am considering INSEAD as it has this diversity global feel I was looking IE in Madrid but after research I found that it didn't fit with my values. I would like to work in the Americas post MBA for little bit hence why I am focused on American and Canadian B-schools. I understand that GMAT is an important part of the application so I am trying my best to secure the right score my weaknesses are low GPA and lack of extra curriculum activities. However I have a lot of examples on when I made an impact small or big. I would love to speak with you further to get an accurate evaluation I will be in touch once I take my GMAT and secure the right score. Thank you so much for your time and advice

Hi,

Given your extensive work experience (and age) as well as your desire to be in the same industry post MBA, I am just wondering if you need a two year MBA. If you are based in the US, I will ask you to consider eMBA. If not, you could still target one year MBAs like Kellogg and Cornell. There aren't too many options for one year MBAs though - just a handful - but a European MBA, according to me fits the bill because they are of one year duration.

You could even consider IMD- they would love your international exposure (Deadlines are underway for the batch commencing SPring, so you may quickly want to write to them for a profile evaluation). Canadian schools - I'd limit it to Richard Ivey, their top-rated program. I believe that with substantial work experience like yours, you should go to a business school where you find more like-minded people to maximize your opportunities for growth (that makes a case once again for the European MBAs where the students are older/ more work-experience).
