A few more perspectives for you LakersFanCali:
  1. Your professional experience sounds pretty good and not overtly common - insurance industry, for all the action happening in the it, still remains fairly under-represented in bschools. I am presume your total experience would be 5 years or so when you start. That's the right 'sweet' spot. Instead of towing the beaten track of consulting, you may want to evaluate playing to your strengths/niche - data analytics, PM, insurance - why leave things that are in so much demand? Think hard and deep on that.
  2. The academic arc, despite the valid rationale, will be a hurdle, especially given the top league schools you are aiming for. So push really hard on the GMAT front.
  3. The ECs look fantastic and diverse too. That could well be the star of your application so be prepared to present it in the most optimal manner.

Hope this helps some.

Cheers,
