Hello everyone,
I am 20 years old, completed my graduation last year(Yes, when I was 19) and I started preparing for GMAT. But after some time I realized that getting a great GMAT score isn't enough. I am from India and there aren't many colleges that help you to get international internships or some great co-curricular activities opportunities. Unfortunately, my college was one of them. So I decided to take a break and started my own business so that I can show a better profile to the selectors and have enough money to study abroad. It's been 6 months and I am hoping that I will be able to make enough to go abroad and study on my own expenses. Currently, I am targetting Rotman and some good b-schools in the USA(Only if Trump isn't in power at that time, no offense). My target GMAT score is 740(720 will work too). So I have a few questions now:
1. I did some research on GMAT and other stuff but still, I am not sure how is it going to be done. To be precise, what is the step by step guide(like do better in academics which I can't do right now) in order to get into a b-school(From ground to the target)?
2. Is a well-established company enough to fix my broken profile? (I was not interested in my branch so I did not study at all and just passed the exams with an aggregate of 60%)
It would be great if you could take your time and answer my questions. Thank you in advance.
PS: Please ignore my poor English, I learned it all on my own in 3 years, If I made any mistake, please ignore.

Thank you for your post and for sharing your profile. Do you intend to go into MBA, MIM, or MSc degree programs? Great schools accept candidates that can demonstrate a capability to succeed in their rigorous curriculum. If you have a low CGPA, you must counterbalance that with high GMAT and other rigorous academic programs that can show your academic potential. In addition to the academics, you must show leadership potential and as well as a willingness to affect your community positively (demonstrated through action).
As you have already ascertained, universities look at a number of areas in a candidate's profile when evaluating for admissions. You can build a profile, but it will take some time. A step-by-step guide is subjective and requires a detailed understanding of your profile and your ambitions. As far as your business, a well-established company helps in the process, but it does not eliminate the need to demonstrate your academic potential, etc..
