Hi oshinwaves,

Honestly, you should be applying with a higher GRE score to all the programs barring Bocconi, where we see you have a reasonable chance. Of course, a lot depends on your nationality as well.

INSEAD prefers either strong entrepreneurial experience or international exposure. As for the remaining schools, it will be important for us to know more about your profile in detail along with what your career goals are to assess your profile in a more detailed manner.

Please leave an inquiry for a free strategy session with us, so we can duly guide you: https://www.expertsglobal.com/mba-admissions-consulting

All the best!

Thanks for sharing your profile oshinwaves ! With a stronger test signal (if possible, bump GRE → 325-335, or GMAT 700+ | higher the better), clearer quantified leadership stories, and a crisp 3-5 year post-MBA plan, you’ll be a competitive candidate for most of your target schools. As-is (320 GRE), if you'd like, you can apply to some schools, but INSEAD & HEC are likely reach unless you improve the test or show highly unusual differentiation. In the past, we had the opportunity to work with a few applicants who received an offer from INSEAD, even with low GMAT scores. Check out success stories: 605FE, 630, 680, and many more...

Why it hurts: Top European MBAs use test averages as an initial signal; INSEAD/HEC cohorts typically sit slightly above 320 GRE equivalence, so a higher score removes doubt and improves scholarship odds.

Why is it not terminal? Your 167 Quant is good(shows strong quantitative ability), which will reassure adcoms about your analytical readiness. Combine that with strong metrics from your work (users reached, funds managed, outcomes improved), and you keep a competitive, differentiated profile. Even with a strong Q score, add a short verified course (financial accounting, statistics, or micro-cred) and put a good grade on your application. Adcoms love scale + ownership. So add stories with metrics. Show how MBA skills (finance, scaling, network) bridge gaps.

Questions for you to reflect upon:
1) Do you prefer to stay in Europe / SEA / India after the MBA?
2) How many months exactly of full-time work do you have? (5 vs 6 years matters for some schools’ medians.)
3) Are you willing to retake tests?
4) Do you already have 1-2 recommenders in mind (senior manager + external partner)?

We would love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, professional experiences, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target schools more accurately. Feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

Good luck!

Hi oshinwaves,

You have a competitive profile for leading MBA programs in Europe and Southeast Asia. Your quantitative GRE score (167Q), five to six years of professional experience in technology and social impact, and your career stage align well with what many of these schools look for.

INSEAD, HEC Paris, University of Oxford – Saïd Business School, and University of Cambridge – Judge Business School: These programs are highly selective. A compelling leadership narrative, strong recommendations, and a well-defined career vision will be essential.

Indian School of Business, Università Bocconi — You should be well-positioned with a strong application that clearly demonstrates your impact and goals.

National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University — Your profile aligns closely with what these programs value, particularly if your post-MBA plans are clearly articulated.

The main area to address is the verbal GRE score (153). This can be offset with well-written essays, strong communication during interviews, and thoughtful recommender selection. Emphasizing your leadership impact and program fit will be critical.

If you would like to strengthen your positioning and application strategy, I recommend scheduling a free consultation to develop a targeted plan for these programs.

You have a strong profile for top European and Southeast Asian MBAs. Your Econ degrees and 5–6 years in tech/social impact are valued, and your GRE Quant (167) is excellent. The Verbal score (153) is low, but strong essays, clear goals, and good recommendations can offset this.
Highlight your academic background, show leadership and achievements at work, and mention any known alumni from your schools. Share your extracurriculars—INSEAD, HEC, and Oxbridge especially care about these.
If possible, retake the GRE Verbal, but even now, focus on clear, well-written essays and interview skills. You have a realistic chance if your application is well-crafted.
