Its Straight.
The author's conclusion is right in front of us. That photography is not an art form any more
and why does he feel that ?
because all one needs to do now is point it at the subjects, digital camera will do the rest.
So the only action now left to do in clicking a perfect picture is pointing it at the subject. and if photography is not an art then the only thing that you do while photographing cannot be an art form. that is Selection of the subject is not an art form. This is the assumption

this
that is

Photography is no longer an art form. Nowadays everyone has access to digital cameras that only need to be pointed at the subject in order to generate a perfect image.
The writer of the argument apparently assumes that
A. the selection of the subject is not an important artistic factor in photography
B. digital cameras will continue to improve in quality
C. digital cameras can never go wrong
D. photography with all other types of camera is an art form
E. art is not perfect

i went with E
Could you please share your thoughts on this?

Look at the train of thoughts here- the author concludes that photography is no longer an art form because according to the author generating a perfect image (using a digi-cam) is everyone's cup of tea.

Now, what is the missing link (assumption) that glues the premise and conclusion together?
Well, the author is assuming that anyone who owns a digi-cam can shoot a perfect picture and that there no plausibility of the talent/skills required to shoot one.

A. the selection of the subject is not an important artistic factor in photography- Makes sense! Negating this completely breaks the argument.
B. digital cameras will continue to improve in quality- So what? Irrelevant. Eliminate.
C. digital cameras can never go wrong- what about art? Eliminate
D. photography with all other types of camera is an art form- All other? What about this one? Eliminate.
E. art is not perfect- But what is art? This is not an assumption. Negating this doesnt break the argument Eliminate.

CORRECT CHOICE
B. digital cameras will continue to improve in quality
Improvement is out of scope
C. digital cameras can never go wrong
The subject is the quality of the image taken by digital camera and not the functioning of the camera
D. photography with all other types of camera is an art form
Out of Scope
E. art is not perfect
The choice is vague and is not coherent with the question. Also the suject in the question is Photography and not art.

In E you are defining art instead of comparing art form.
or artistic nature.

I was confused at first. Fortunately, I spot the key word "subject" => the argument claims the digital cameras can create arts from the photography, but it forgot to mention choosing a subject can be an art => A is the answer.

"types" in the option D does not refer to classical or digital, but the types of a camera.
