If 5 percent of a rectangular lot is covered by a rectangular shed that is 25 feet long and 24 feet wide, what is the area of the lot in square feet?

(A) 3,000
(B) 5,700
(C) 12,000
(D) 22,500
(E) 30,000

The area of the shed is 25 x 24 = 600; thus:

600 = 0.05(lot)

600/0.05 = lot

12,000 = lot

Answer: C
