\(\angle\) BDA = \(\angle\) BDC

(2) AB is equal to BC.

Combining 1 and 2 , we get
\(\triangle\) BDA and BDC are congruent (RHS congruency )
\(\angle\) BDA = \(\angle\) BDC
AB=BC
BD=BD (Common side)
=>x=y (Corresponding parts of congruent triangles)

Sum of the 3 angles equal 180. Combining 1st and 2nd statements, we get y=x . Triangles ABD and Traingles BDC are equal
