Dear all,
short story short, I tried two official CAT (680 in both..) and two
MGMAT CAT (got 580 and 550). Yesterday I tried a real GMAT and only scored 560. I cancelled my score.. Find the whole story here
https://gmatclub.com/forum/from-680-to-237477.html#p1832196I signed in for a new GMAT in two months (7th of June), aiming to break the 700 barrier. A big success would be 720. So I am asking for some wise advice from your side. The preparation material I have is:
- all
MGMAT books (I already studied from them). I know answers by hearth..;
- Verbal Review (301 questions), Quantitative Review (300 questions) and General Review (404Q, 403V Questions). All are OG 2017;
- Princeton review;
- PowerScore SC
Believe it or not, I don't think I have a technical skill problem as I have a strong engineering background. I certainly have a non-rigorous approach and a stupid attitude to rush over questions. How would you plan the next two months until the test day? I can afford studying 3h/day and around 6h/day during weekends. Also I am planning to have 8 days off before the test.
What about the following?:
From OG: 30 mins section for PS (15 questions);
From OG: 30 mins section for DS (15 questions);
From OG: 20 mins questions CR (12 questions);
From OG: 20 mins questions SC (12 questions);
From OG: 20 mins questions RC (12 questions);
Total: 2h - remaining 1h.
At this pace, I should terminate OG books in ~25 days. Then how to invest the remaining hour of each session? I was thinking about the gmat question bank.
My questions for you are:
- what should I buy additionally?
- I am planning to buy the two additional CATS from GMAT and I have 4 CAT lefts from
MGMAT. When should I take them?;
- How to keep practice after finishing the OG material for a score >700.
Let me know your opinions. Thanks in advance. My profile: 32yo, Ph.D in numerical engineering.
Best Regards,
