I have been solving RCs for quite some time, and thanks to Gmatclub timer, I realised that I am taking 1 min more than average time taken to read the passage and answer 1st question. I am a non-native speaker with high vocabulary and superior command over English. I am taking time to understand what the author is trying to convey and I have no difficulties in getting the answers right.
My current strategy is to read everything once, then revise important points made by the author, have an overall understanding of the argument, and then approach questions.
Can you please suggest efficient alternatives? I have tried skimming the passage and everything but I feel lost while answering questions if I dont understand the arguement.
PS:_ I am scoring 760 in mocks and aiming at 760+.

The strategy I use for RC is to read the passage slowly but only once. I try to summarise each passage and understand the main point before moving to the question. I then the look at the questions and try pre-thinking the answer, I then look at the answer choices, If I am confused in the top two choices, I go back to the passage for verbose and select the answer.
This strategy has been working well for me.

Your strategy is pretty sound. The only thing I’ll mention is that skimming the passage won't really help. You need to find the fine line between reading fast and understanding what you are reading. When reading, you don’t necessarily need to absorb every detail in each passage, but have an idea of where those details are, so you can easily go back to them when answering questions.
