I too have shortlisted Foster and Kelley due to their strong placement in consulting.

Between Seattle and Indiana, which is the better place to be for an international applicant looking to get a working visa in the United States after graduation?

The market in Seattle seems bigger (not to mention that it is in Washington) but I just want to make sure I am not misled on this train of thought. Would appreciate some thoughts.

I am currently in the early stage of selecting which schools to apply to.

Go Kelley!
The University of Washington is not that well known for MBA.
Kelly has a great reputation. I will not worry about the International Students.
I found out that many Students from Asia are excellent with all the Quantitative subjects but the English learning curve is very steep.
According to a March 19 article in the WSJ, 32% of foreign students are coming from China. The schools want the money from the overseas students and compromise the English proficiency entrance exam.

I'm a current Kelley. So let me help you with a couple of these questions.
1) Because of its location, it would be difficult to get internships and placements.
100% of my class who wanted an internship got one. One of my classmates decided to do helicopter training and another started her own consulting firm. Everyone else interned somewhere.

We have a large amount of companies that recruit on campus. In terms of consulting, a bunch of my classmates are going to EY and PWC, with a few at Deloitte, two for Bain and one for McKinsey. As far as I can recall, the international students are mainly going to EY and PWC. It seems like the consulting companies like to place people in the Chicago offices, or at least have Chicago office people do the recruiting, but some of the consulting students are going to other cities like Denver.

In terms of marketing, some of the B2B companies like Cummins and Ecolab hire internationals.

2) A bigger class size. More international students and hence more competition for the companies that come to campus.
From what I understand, internationals are always around 35% of the class and companies that recruit at Kelley know that.

3) I'm also a little worried about my GMAT score (690). It might be a little lower compared to the other international students and whether it would lessen my chances of getting an interview call from prospective companies in comparison to other students.
They'll work with you on how to present your particular background and skill set. You would not have gotten admitted to Kelley if they didn't think you had job prospects.
