Thank you for sharing and the post. I admit, I know a lot less than you do about the programs, esp when it touches the social entrepreneurship side of things. Look forward to hearing what you decide to do.

Thanks

First off, congratulations for being accepted to those schools. Your decision will be entirely based on the location where you will end up living and working.

Do not bother yourself with others perspectives and take the ranking as guidance. Everyone searches for her/his own fit. It seems you find it in those schools so no waste of money. You did your due diligence and visited the school in the US. I agree with you and BB about Babson and USD. I know that Sauder possesses a good reputation after higher Canadian universities but still has its name in Canada.

RSM possesses good reputation in its region. My friends (non-Dutch) who live and work outside Rotterdam asked their Dutch colleagues and senior managers and almost received positive feedback about RSM compared to other Business schools in Netherland. Also, I’m in contact with different alumni (2015) who have positive feedback about quality of learning, and comments on career service office, especially that the program has 98% international students. Both my friends and alumni agreed that acquiring a language, beside English, makes you attractive so some of them enrolled in Dutch lessons at night schools for free.

Although entrepreneurship is not my expertise, I have found the following groups and centers:
https://groups.myrsm.nl/rsmvce/about/
https://ece.nl/
https://enactus-eur.nl/

If you choose RSM, you can think in doing term 4 (Sept-Dec.) as in any partner American university or non-American (such as Wharton, Booth, Kellogg)
1- The electives do not the same strength as most schools in their list. I got the tentative one today from the director of MBA program.
2- You can add American program in you resume which is benefit for employment as I heard from some who did this it.
3- You can build a good network in the clubs in case you want to get back to the US or any country or share a project with that network.

Find the following link for partner universities with RSM.
https://www.rsm.nl/rsm-students-going-ab ... /list/0/5/

If you want to get touched to alumni, just PM me and I can ask for their help.

I wish you success.

I have been living in the Netherlands for the past 8 years. It is really a comfortable country to live in but basically it is pretty socialist. Taxes are high but you get things.

There is no argument that RSM is the best b-school in the country and by far (well there are not that many b-schools in the first place). I visited RSM during its open day a couple of months ago and yes it comprises 98% international students (2 Dutch among 100 students). Honestly, I see this as a negative point instead of a positive one. You study in a country where you don't get to meet the locals as your classmates?

I wouldn't pick USD just because it is the most expensive and it is not even ranked in US News, which many consider as the most relevant ranking system in the US.

bb, funny that you love Rotterdam. Quite a lot of people here don't really like it (including me). Most who don't find it not as pretty as typical European cities and a it's a bad mixture of modern skyscrapers and some old buildings in a non-harmonious way. Hahaha but to each its own ;)

You guys are awesome for offering your input (and also thanks for providing those links @Mo2men). I am currently mulling over everything that everyone has ever said about any of these programs and will let you know what I decide. Really was not expecting decision time to be this hard! I have til March 15th to choose my destiny.

Wow great options and kudos to all of the info provided above. My two cents, it seems for what you are looking for and taking in the financials RSM seems to be the ideal place for you amongst your list. Please make sure to share your decision once you make it. Congrats!

Hey there, friends!

Things just got a little more complicated: I've been accepted into George Washington's Global MBA program which I applied to post-R4 deadline on a whim. I still don't know if they're giving me any money (probably not, or else they would have led with it I'm assuming), but the cost of attendance is way up there... $50K more than Babson. Do you think it's worth it to spend $150K to go to what I think is my top choice program (although not an M7/only top 50 program)?

Also, I've definitely ruled out Sauder just due to hearing some less than wonderful things about the program. RSM is still a possibility, but the one year program is a turnoff.

Babson, I'm still considering solely because I'm so impressed with their entrepreneurial coursework and opportunities, but I would really rather avoid New England, if possible.

GW, I feel strongly about due to location, social impact opportunities, entrepreneurship coursework, consulting abroad opportunities, 10% of class does internship abroad, study abroad opportunities, and just overall prestige. Price tag is a bit insane though.

You guys have any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Hey there!

I just wanted to update those who were curious: I ended up choosing GW as I talked them into matching scholarships with the other programs. Excited to go to DC and definitely feel this was the best choice for me!

Thanks again for your insight, all! :)

P.S. Best of luck to those starting the process!
