Hi everyone,
I am an international (Indian) based in Singapore, with 3 years WE as a software engineer in a major financial services firm.
Post-MBA, I intend to transition into strategy/digital consulting or product management in the tech space (Plan B).
Although I would like to work in the US in the short-term, I am flexible with mobility to other countries, given the difficulty in obtaining an H1B visa and the uncertainty due to COVID-19.
I have received offers from CMU Tepper ($60k) and UCLA Anderson. Since there is not much to differentiate between the two schools in terms of curriculum/recruiting figures, here is my pros/cons list:
Tepper
+ Scholarship
+ STEM MBA, which would help me for my OPT extension during the H1B process
+ CMU is a great institute for tech
+ Flexibility to move to either coast
Anderson
+ West Coast might be better suited for tech
+ Large class size, wider network
+ Slightly better ranking/international recognition
I am personally confident that I'd have a great time at both these schools, so any thoughts/comments would be great! Thanks a lot!
