Are you in a relationship? What do they think about geography?

Is your company paying for any of it?

I'm in a long-term relationship and we have discussed the possibility of moving in the future for my career. We're both open to that possibility if the right opportunity comes along. We've discussed moving either south (Florida), west (California), or northwest (Washington/Oregon).

My company will contribute 75%, so for both programs total cost will be about $50k out of pocket.

What do you WANT?

Is there either option you think would be flat out cool to be a part of?

Although Tepper has a more established online MBA program, I believe Ross is the much better brand and will serve you better. If the cost of the program is essentially the same, then I would absolutely go with Ross. I like that they kept MAP from their full-time program for the online program.

Michigan would be "cool" from the standpoint of originally hailing from that state and being a Big 10 football fan.

Tepper would be "cool" based on the elective offerings and ability to travel and connect with the cohort.

My struggle right now is if the things I prefer about Tepper's program really outweigh the strength of the Michigan Ross brand/network.

I would go with Ross for the brand and the alumni network. Ross has one of the largest alumni networks...

I had looked into the Weekend program Ross once upon a time and was extremely impressed with the job outcomes of their cohorts. One of my friends did the weekend mba Ross and got into Management consulting afterwards (from being an engineer in Product development).

Is your company also covering 75% of the transportation costs of the times you're going to have to go to campus?

The extra dozen or so trips to campus in Tepper can really add up $ wise ... and experientially!

... just trying to help you find things that'll make the difference.

I live in Philly, so it's about 600 miles round trip with my car @ 25mpg and say gas of $3/gal I'm looking at $72/each trip. Total of 16 trips for the program, so that's an additional $1,152.

Conversely plane tickets from Philly to Detroit are $200-$400, so for three trips I'm somewhere between $600 and $1,200.

Not really an appreciable difference to me, especially since Tepper is already slightly less because of scholarship.

So, in financial terms, it really is six of one, half dozen of the other.

I hate unnecessary flying, but I think with that, I'd still pick Ross due to brand and network.

Good luck.

I have to concur. Ross is the better brand and I believe it will help you more in the long run. Tepper is a phenomenal program but when it comes to online programs, I always recommend going with the better brand.
