ROTMAN GMAT CLUB SPOTLIGHT KEY TAKEAWAYS 2026

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Rotman School of Management offers three MBA programs: a 20-month full-time MBA, a 32-month evening MBA, and a new 12-month one-year MBA. The full-time program includes a four-month paid internship, while the evening program allows students to work while studying. The one-year MBA is designed for those with a business or management background and does not include an internship.
ADMISSIONS & APPLICATION
Applications for the full-time and evening MBA programs open in August, while the one-year MBA applications open in July. A recognized undergraduate degree is required for all programs, with specific requirements for the one-year MBA. GMAT or GRE scores are generally required, but waivers are available for candidates with certain professional designations or a high GPA from the University of Toronto.
SCHOLARSHIPS & FUNDING
Merit-based scholarships range from $5,000 to $40,000 for the full-time MBA and $5,000 to $20,000 for the evening MBA. No separate application is needed; all applicants are automatically considered. Early application is recommended to increase scholarship chances.
CAREER SERVICES
Rotman provides extensive career support, including personalized career coaching and access to a wide alumni network. The school boasts a 92% employment rate within six months of graduation, with an average salary of $134,000.
UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES
Rotman offers a self-development lab to enhance communication and leadership skills. Students can participate in global experiential learning projects and have the option to study abroad at one of 31 partner institutions.
APPLICATION ADVICE
Rotman values leadership potential in various forms, including non-profit and entrepreneurial experiences. Applicants are encouraged to highlight leadership roles and collaborative experiences in their applications. The admissions process now includes a timed video interview component.
APPLICATION FEE WAIVER
Attendees of the session can receive an application fee waiver by emailing mba.rotman.utrotto.ca.
UPDATE FROM DAY 2 SESSION (JUN 11, RACHEL YANG)
• Fall 2027 intake applications open late August 2026
• Fee waiver details will be EMAILED to session attendees (resolves the garbled email address from Day 1 transcript)
• 100+ electives; students can emphasize up to two areas (finance, marketing, healthcare management, etc.)
• Creative Destruction Lab for entrepreneurship-minded students
• ~21% of grads enter consulting, including McKinsey, Bain, BCG
• Dual degrees available: JD/MBA, MD/MBA and others; explain career gaps and show recent experience

Anyone know when applications are expected open?
Also any idea of the main determinants of a scholarship/how to improve? I have a 695 GMAT/3.89 GPA from McGill + 4 YOE at matriculation. Worth giving the GMAT again to aim for a 705/715? Will that help my case?
