Oh yes I forgot to congratulate!! congratulations :beer :cool :bouncer

:btw its amazing why almost ALWAYS such posters who get 720/ 750/ 770 studying a day or 2 disappear after making just one post.

Pardon my skepticism but I don't buy it unless I see for myself that the poster is genuine.

not sure why do you think that its not possible

without sounding arrogant, I claim that I could have got 700-750 without even looking at any of GMAT books, pattern etc...but then that doesnt mean I would have got everytime

now there are awlays few people who dont want to prepare given many constraints they might have

Personally...Im firm believer that if one is already 700+ ...preparation may/may not increase the score

Im personally not getting any score jump after decent preparations ( now one can argue that my preparation methods are worng etc)

Still Im trying to prepare as much as I can ...so that even if I get a sub 700...I wont feeld bad for lack of efforts

Look, I dont mean to say its impossible, but if you look at previous such posts, they mostly have had dubious intentions meant to throw off other preppers who have to struggle for months to break into 700s. However, I hope Sambisu comes out of his silence and proves me wrong. I would love to know how the real test day experience is after basically no prepping at all.

If you read below posts, you may crack a pattern.

I agree gmatpapa that it does seem like a lot of high scorers with limited prep post and then disappear. But that makes sense right? You wouldn't hang around this forum all that much if you weren't spending a great deal of time preparing. Also, it's not so uncommon for people to score highly without much preparation. If you are still in school or just graduated, you are at an advantage already (I was an engineer and my quant fundamentals didn't need the same training as those of someone who had been out of school for 5+ years).

But... What would a guy who studied for just two days and got a score of 720 have to say?
:-D
He just wrote two prep tests and wrote the damned test and got a 720!

A 720 without prepping is very much do-able. I have been prepping for a week now. Took two of the GMatPreps and hit off with a 720 and a 750 on the next one.

So do-able? Yes!

My diagnostic was 770 and several of my friends scored similarly on their first try. A relevant analogy would be that many speedskaters are also naturally good at cycling. It wouldn't be surprising then to see a speedskater do much better in his first cycling race than other "beginners" who had no athletic background.

First of all, congrats on your GMAT score of 770..

And now, you're still hanging around this forum right, and probably even helping others out through forums or PMs right? even though you're applying in '13..
It is definitely possible to crack GMAT in a relatively lesser amount of time. But if you look at all the *fake* GMAT success stories, in all of them the OPs never returned to say hello or to help others out. If they did, they vanished with a speed as great as their GMAT score, possibly because they soon realized that they're not capable enough to protect their lie.
It is indeed possible that the OP did get that score, but after reading so many dubious success stories of people with similar go-abouts, I will never believe such a story unless I see some credentials behind the OP. And as far as I've seen- folks who do get great scores (less prepping or otherwise) always reply to questions posted by forum members.

But its my opinion really. I'm waiting for the OP to come back from his well deserved vacation and prove me wrong. I will be the first one to congratulate.

not to demean anyone, but some people have this rare talent Or another version is that people who tend to get such high scores without much prep include those who have been academically brilliant and have been reading/studying a lot since childhood, so such people need not prepare specifically for the exam as they might already have the knowledge
