Does anybody know what percentage of those interviewed actually get accepted for Wharton round 2? Does this differ by region or country?

Optimistic realism would be appropriate. Good luck.

Datapoints seem a bit thin, but I've not found anything from googling that shows anyone who has been admitted in R3?

Every year people get admitted in R3. Is it a lot of people? No. However, there are some. If you're an average candidate (i.e. no superstar stats, work experience, or ECs) and/or you're not from a diverse group (professionally or culturally), then chances are low. I will say you never know what they will be looking for in R3. Each year the applicant pool changes and someone who is unique one year can be run of the mill the very next one.

Alright, so I'm getting kind of anxious. I asked a question at the end of my Wharton interview and my interviewer asked me to follow up over e-mail just to remind them. I did, (and I don't want to get into too many details about this) but my interviewer gave me a pretty canned response and basically a link to the Wharton website. The website didn't even answer my question! And during my interview, I even prefaced my question with "Wharton's website has abc, but I was wondering what opportunities there are for xyz?"

I feel like either
(a) my interviewer was bogged down with so many follow-up questions that they didn't have that much time to give a tailored response to my question,
(b) or worse, my interviewer misinterpreted my question and thought it was something that could be easily answered from the website, and now believes that I didn't do my due diligence on the school.

Anyone else experience a similar thing and has some helpful advice?

May not be relevant to you but just for other who are thinking on what they should be asking for that last question in almost every business school interview process -
Interview is not a place where you want to impress the interviewer by trying to stump him/her with an intelligent question. In fact, your questions should always be open ended and broad enough where the interviewer can answer it (e.g. something on his/her own experience, internship, career etc).

Now coming to your question - Irrespective of what case it is, do not follow up any more. By asking more, you might just irritate the interviewer. Chances are that your interview report is already in (usually within 24 hours) so just rest this case.

I wonder why R2 interview invitation is so few compared to R1. Does it mean R2 admits will also fewer than R1? Or admit rate after interview will rise? I am very anxious about final decision...

Question - does Wharton call admitted students a day before the decision date, like Booth does? Or will it be an e-mail on March 30 with a follow-up call for admitted students?

I received my call the the morning of the decision. I think they try to get to as many people as they can, but sometimes don't reach everyone.

I was referring to R1, and I had received a call from a committee member (more of a congratulatory call). I think the anticipated process is to let everyone know through Wharton's ApplyYourself portal.

My new blog post on how to approach the application process to Wharton, plus my very simple (thus robust) planning/application mapping tool:

March 13 edit: the download link is now fixed. Thanks to everyone who found that bug.

I guess there's not much more to do other than wait and see, but I don't think I've even found anyone on this board in past years who did get in in Round 3...

From what I understand talking to HBS and Wharton alumni who are/were active in the admission process, Rd3 is almost purely about rounding the class given what candidate pool they drew from Rd1/Rd2, whereas those earlier rounds are almost examined independently.

When it comes to Wharton, the statement does not apply anymore: R1 and R2 are not independent events. What links the two rounds is the very large WL size. Considering that people remain on WL well into the summer, even R3 is not an independent event anymore.

Xerox, is this a recent change? I had heard historically that the chances of getting in off the waitlist at Wharton haven't been great for R1 applicants and are virtually unheard of for R2 applicants. It makes sense for Wharton to hold off a large pool in R1 to see what develops in R2 but I did not have the impression that they did this historically.
