I am Amneet ,I have approximately 4 years of IT experience and would be appearing for August,2012 or August,2013 session.
I have been working for the same IT company for 4 years now I have a situation in front of me.
I have an opportunity to join Deloitte company(which is good brand) but they dont have an opportunity in which I can work onsite and all but My current company is giving me an opportunity to work overseas for a long term and get an international exposure.
Right now I am confused that what should I go for......
If I stick to current company I will get onsite exposure plus I will get an opportunity to work in more diverse environment but as far as Deloitte is concerned the work is not that aspiring.
So can anyone pls help me out in selecting one of the opportunity
List of Colleges I wanted to be part of: Johnson business school,chicago booth,Duke,Tuck,ISB.

This is a hard call and I wouldn't mind doing either. Truth is, it matters little to what you do but the impact you make at work. Since you're targeting US b-schools, international experience will not be as significant as it will be for INSEAD. If I were you, I wouldn't pay that much attention between international experience vs. brand right now. Focus on what you'd like to do and truly make an impact at work (to me, both are in equal importance).

Yes you should follow what you really want without looking at what school would expect.
I have left one of the top IT company in India, in which I had spent 2.5+ years. The only reason was to have international exposure: not to show off in my resume, but to experience what I really want.
So instead of looking how school would react on your decision, follow your heart and fulfill your wishes.
Now if I were adcom, I would have glad to know that you chose your same company instead of switching to big brand. Doing small work in big company is not as significant as doing big work in small company.
