When the denominator has the prime factors in the form of 2^n5^m the fraction can be expressed in terminating decimal. Check for the factors of all denominator, you will get the answer.

A decimal will terminate when the equivalent lowest-term fraction has a denominator containing ONLY prime factors of either 2’s, 5’s, or both.

Since 21/6,000 = 7/2000, and since 2,000 breaks down to prime factors of just 2’s and 5’s, we see that 21/6,000 will terminate.

Hello Guys,

We all agree that we NEED FIRST to lower the fraction before the prime factoization ? Because 6000 = 2^4*5^3*3 so there is another prime factor, which is 3 ...

Coud you please confirm that we need first to reduce the fraction before getting into the prime factorization ?

Thank you for the help
