Manhattan GMAT- The Gold Standard

My biggest GMAT mistake was trying to glean insights from all the different test prep companies. I would be on Kaplan, Princeton, MGMAT, Magoosh, amongst others reading and trying new strategies. I'm here to save you a LOT of time. If you are serious about scoring 90th percentile of better (or for that matter 80th or better), you MUST go with Manhattan. No other tests are more accurate or will kick your butt like MGMAT.
The Veritas and Kaplan tests were usually very poor at mimicking the actual test and often inflated my scores (I was scoring 720s easily which was incredibly wrong.)
Manhattan's quant is the gold standard. It will be the toughest and hardest, but if you are serious about improving quant, Manhattan will get you there. Plus the suite of online tools they provide with their classes is second to none.
Additionally, their verbal was best at mimicking the actual GMAT and was strong enough to challenge a high verbal scorer like myself.
Manhattan will give you that test day pop- you will score higher on test day than your practices. Why? Manhattan will challenge and prepare you so well that when you try the actual test, you may find it mildly easier! So do not be discouraged if Manhattan kicks your butt, cause it did the same to me. (I saw a 20 point test day pop which is HUGE.)
Quick comment on my instructors, they were AWESOME and full of energy. But the competitive advantage isn't necessarily the class itself, but the high well organized study strategies and software they provide which give you a clear and crisp study roadmap.
In conclusion, I went from 550 after 6 months of self study, to 700 after the MGMAT class. Disclaimer- you MUST be a self starter and self motivated to get the most from it. But, if you are, do not skimp based on price. During my first round, I tried to go with the cheapest options- big mistake. Go with the gold standard. Manhattan has the best online tools, strategies, and tests in the business hands down! After experiencing both sides, I'm now a believer.

Upset and frustrated, I started looking for online materials and based on the positive review, I enrolled myself for Quant Live course. I spent some time going through the material and really liked the way concepts were explained. The presentation format of the material really helps understand things faster. The internal forum is pretty active and answers your questions promptly.

I already feel the difference in my quant ability. I would be giving my GMAT again and hopefully these concepts learned from e-gmat will help improve my verbal score. I shall share my feedbakc once agin after my exams. Awesome

CR session

The CR session that Neeti Sohal clarify is comprehensive and useful. The way to eliminate the wrong answer choice, and see the option that really strengthen and weaken the argument is very clear. Each type of arguments is well-presented so it does support me a lot in the process of pre-thinking and analyses the context more properly and more efficiently. All the concepts are well-structured in the pre-requisites so I can apply these concepts first before coming to the live session to have better application. However, the RC course should provide OG questions to apply each concept to make better understanding.

I gave gmat on 31st march and got 660(V33, Q48,IR 7, AWA 4.5). I started my preparation in Feb 2015 and struggled a lot both in verbal and math sections. I was practicing math after a gap of almost 10 years and found it so annoying that i thought of giving up on gmat initially. Learned basic concepts from manhattan quant guides. Guides really helped me but i found some of the topics such as quadratic inequality, probability, permutations and combinations and profit an loss difficult to understand. That is when i subscribed to e-gmat online course , basically to improve verbal part. However, out of my math phobia, i concentrated more on quant section than on verbal. I must say that it really helped me improve my confidence in math. In one month i could feel that i was improving. e-gmat's quadratic inequality and absolute value section is just awesome. Also e-gmat's approach to solve probability, permutation and combination, it's profit and loss section are something that any one who wishes to clear those concepts must refer to. I received Q48 and large part of the credit must go to e-gmat. Highlight of it's course is scholarian section. It is a awesome collection of some of the most diverse questions. Hope to utilise it's verbal section thoroughly and improve my score to 700 in my next attempt.

Hi all,
E-GMAT verbal course is just fantastic. The courses are well structured, but it is definitely their explanations that set the company apart. I need to fully understand something before applying principles.

I am not an English native speaker and up to now I was really struggling with verbal part but thanks to Sundeep and his team I feel more comfortable. Previously I tried other prep company, I worked really hard but I couldnt sense significant improvements. That was probably because I had some gaps in my understanding.
Today I am more confident and systematic in the way I approach questions types.

I highly recommand E-GMAT

thanks
X

eGMAT explains verbal concepts in great detail. I really like the SC course. They also provide excellent support and answer queries within a day or two(max) through their forum. eGMAT has been a great resource. eGMAT's Scholoranium is a good and one of the few reliable sources of practicing questions. eGMAT's course is a great package overall. They have solutions for OG questions and it really helped when I could not understand the concepts. I think that the course is worth the money. I recommend the course to anyone who wants to understand verbal concepts in detail. The only improvement I can suggest is to make the subscription valid for one year instead of 6 months.

Course Magoosh Math

I took Magoosh to boost my GMAT Quant. I was very impressed with the in-depth analysis and strategic method of teaching. I would recommend it to students who are looking to gain a stronger understanding of quant topics. My weak areas were Algebraic Translations, Geometry, Probability and Combinatorics, Weighted Averages and Number Properties. I spent some time reviewing concepts and then did timed practice using OG and GMAT Club. Magoosh played a major role in inculcating more confidence in my quant abilities going into the GMAT. I did not have much time but if you have 2+ months, this course is ideal to brush up rusty concepts. It is definitely worth the buy. Good luck!

This is one of the best courses I have ever taken. Coming from a back ground of non native english speaking, I am very much confused with english sentences and structure. This course really demystified all the problems I had.
Sentence correction is my most favorite part. The critical reasoning are pretty awesome as well.
I would recommend the course to every one with a non -english back ground.
it is also encouraged to undergo the quant section which heard has some great tips as well. Reading comprehension is good, but squeezing some tricks can help as well..

the webinars for starters are informative and provide some confidence to learn things better

Good even for natives

Upon taking a practice test, I realized that, even as a native, my verbal skills were sub-par (I think I scored something like Q47/V31). I scored poorly in SC (as well as CR & RC), and things seemingly clicked during my three months of preparation before my first gmat. I scored fairly low (680) and realized I needed to do something different. Even though e-gmat seems to be targeted at non-natives, I thought to myself, if non-natives like this, then I really should like this.

What I found is that e-gmat clearly explained things to me that didn't seem all that intuitive. CR has certain rules, that I would call arbitrary and non-logical. E-gmat explained in great detail why certain answers were wrong, and that helped in eliminating wrong answer choices on more difficult questions.

Their SC was invaluable to me. I think that having a decent base of SC knowledge to work off of really helped me to grasp things quickly as I went through the SC class. Also, I now notice how poorly people at my work write.

The RC was good, but not as great as their CR and SC were for a native. I did have difficulty in determining the main purpose of passages, and this class did definitely help with that.
