Review for herald square test center

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

The test center was to my surprise, very clean and professional. I say that it was to my surprise because I've heard some horror stories from my friends about his or her experiences with taking GMAT in Manhattan. However, i arrived promptly 15 minutes before my exam, and the front desk was helpful. I think the front desk has been coached or has some sense of awareness that they were very polite and courteous to not only myself, but to other test takers who arrived at the same time. The test center itself was calm, peaceful and easy to navigate. I would recommend this place to anyone commuting or living in the city to take the test.

Bring your own earplugs

The center itself is very professional, front desk was very nice and it does have lockers for you to store your belongings. It's also very easy to access as it's right beside the subway.

My biggest issue with this test center was that the earmuffs they provide are very rigid and are extremely uncomfortable. On top of that, the keyboards they use are very old and they are mechanical - so your neighbours will create a lot of additional noise. My keyboard was also not the greatest and kept dropping characters, which really impacted my writing speed for the essay.

Allahabad Test Centre

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

The Allahabad Test Centre was in the heart of the city in Civil Lines though it is now closed.I gave the GMAT there years back but the atmosphere was quite good. The staff was excellent and very helpful.Though my exam started late due to festival season the staff fully helped me.
This centre should start once again for the sole use of the students in UP.The other centre is in Lucknow which is quite far for the students based in East UP.
Therefor, for the sake of giving an opportunuty to these students the Allahabad centre should be started once again.

New Horizons Test Center is recommended

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I have done two gmat exams, one in the Hamra Test Center and another in the New Horizon Test Center in downtown Beirut Lebanon. In comparison, I would definitely recommend the New Horizon Test Center given how:
1) Conveniently located it is: right in the middle of Down Town, in the Puma building
2) Despite being a bit 'hidden in the building' they were able to guide me very quickly to the location
3) The employees at the center are super helpful and efficient! They were flexible, proactively catering to my requests and even started my exam a bit earlier than my schedule as the seat was available
4) Center is quiet and calm, very good for you to concentrate
5) Center is fully equipped with latest technology, coffee and water
I would definitely recommend this center for anyone looking to take their GMAT exam in Lebanon. It helps with the its overall positive ambiance and efficient processes.

test day experience

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

Hii All,
Finally took the test.Didnt fare that well, but would still like to share the whole experience and the do's and dont's that i feel should have been followed by me.
The test center of chennai was far from where i live and it took me more than 2 hours to reach. My test was scheduled at 1 but i reached by 12 and got to start my test by 12:30 PM.
The whole process of verification of identity and biometrics was smooth and the test center was good if not great.
Since my timing was clashing with my lunch timing ,I had to carried a bottle of hydrating drinks and some chocolate bars for the breaks.
The AWA and IR went well and then i moved to the quants section after a short break. The section started well and the initial questions were pretty straignt forward. The section went well with some tricky questions appearing around Q10.Since i hadnt taken too many mock due to my extensive travelling job,I was rushing throug the section in the first half hour. This allowed me to relax a bit in the middle section but this is where i think i screwed up.I overestimated my capabilities and was in a fix towards the end of the section.I had to rush through last 4 -5 questions which i feel i got wrong and resulted in a below par score of Q45.

My take aways :How much well prepared you are or good at any topic ,taking timed test is the key for the exam day.Appearing mocks is the most important thing.Little upset but i think i can manage this animal next time.Tightening my belt and getting ready for one more shot in a short while.only worry is i am little late for 2017 cycle.

All the best to everyone else planning to write GMAT in near future. Please take aa many times test as possible.

thanks

Good experience at test center

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

I had a good experience at Rio de Janeiro test center. It is located downtown, what makes it very easy to access. My appointment was on a Saturday, so I woke up early, took the subway, and got there walking just a few minutes.
After I arrived there, I met the receptionist (who was very kind with me), left my backpack in the locker, and got my seat at the exam room. The exam room itself was the only thing that was not excellent. They have many computers for different certification exams, so people get in and out of the room all the time (however, people tried not to make noise). It didn't disturb me, but if you need absolute silence during the exam, it can be an issue. The toilets were good and I recommend people that live in Rio to take the exam there.

Good facilitites

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

I feel like Pearson has a standard type of facilities. They are located in a good neighborhood in Sao Paulo and you can use the parking lot in the same building, which makes things easier. They have a small toilet (very clean) and lockers to put your stuff. They provided me ear plugs and all the material that I needed to do the test. I felt very confortable on the chair and when using the keyboard. Overall, it was a very good experience. I went there earlier and they asked me if I would like to start or wait until my scheduled time, I preferred to start.

Test center in Lima

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

The only place to take the gmat in Peru is in Lima, at the new horizon computer learning center.

I arrived early and was directed towards the testing location which was a small room with 6 computers that was dedicated to the gmat takers. The room was old and pressed for space and they had the AC blasting to keep the room cold. I took the test alone as the other people had finished before I even started and this worked out wonderfully as it was quiet and I was able to avoid any distractions.

If you have to take the test here please allow enough time to wait in traffic on the way and also to look for parking in the area as it is very limited.

Good Pearson VUE Test Center at Hyderabad

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

Hello All,
I took up my GMAT around 2 and half months ago. I booked up my appointment at the only center at Hyderabad (available during that time of my test) and to my surprise the center representatives were so friendly and that really helped me calk down. I believe it is really necessary to calk down your nerves before you take up the GMAT. The scratch pad and the pen were working fine and i was instructed to not keep the pen cap open for a longer period of time.
Please let me know if you would like to know any other details of this test center and i will be happy to help.
Other facilities were just fine.
Thanks !

Hi Nivie,

Hope you had a good test exp! Which one was your center? Mine was the one in Madhapur and it had multiple outages, the sanctity of exam was lost as outages kept on happening until the middle of verbal section! I have complained to GMAC but so far nothing in last 2 weeks. They are "investigating". I don't expect them to do anything favourable.

Next time I am going to take begumpet location, hope it goes smoothly once and for all!

Edu Kinect Madhapur center is not good. They don't provide a good environment to write test. You will frequently face outage, center people frequently walk in test room and talk loudly, monitor screens are outdated and blurred, lot of noise as locker is just opposite test room, scratch note is not clean and sketch pens are dried. So you would struggle to get a peaceful environment to concentrate and difficult to write while rough work. Better stay away from Edu Kinect Madaphur center.

I selected a morning exam time (8:30am) to write my first and hopefully finally GMAT exam. The exam location is conveniently located off Barlow Trail but I will suggest you drive to the location if your exam is in the morning. The main entrance to the building is not open until 8am and given how cold it can be in Calgary, you may not want to freeze before your exam!

At 8am, I went upstairs to the Pearson VUE test centre and meet the staff at the reception. The staff was very polity and respectful. She reviewed the terms and conditions and took my palm print. She asked me if i wanted to start earlier than 8:30am since I was the only one writing the exam that morning (of course I accepted! I am a morning person).

In terms of noise, I will not suggest you seat close to the window. Since the test centre is located close to the airport and a fairly busy road, it can get a bit noisy. However, after a while i was able to tune it out (may exam nerves).

In terms of facilities and restrooms, the facilities were okay and I was able to utilize my 8mins break efficiently.

I don't plan on retaking the exam but if I were to retake it, I will recommend the location.
