I took the Gmat some months ago and scored a V34. Taking into consideration that i am a non native i had trouble with the verbal section. Almost disapointed with my performance i signed up for E-Gmat Verbal Live Prep and it was one of the best choices i made. Lacking focus and confidence the E gmat team asked me to trust them and do as they say and i would be able to score high. I score a V34 with only limited practice. I only practised with the OG and only a little with Scholaranium. I didnt use all the helpful parts of my course(eg i didnt use the verbal workshop ). I believe that if i had some more time to practise some more questions from the Scholaranium(and the other parts) i would be able to score much better.
Their Sentence correction is really amazing. They wont ask you to memorize 1000 idioms ; their strategy is based on meaning. My SC quickly became my strongest part on the whole Gmat.
Their Critical Reasoning is also commendable. Especially if you are a non native and you have never had a standardized critical reasoning test before this course is a must. They really help you with DETAILED explanations. Every question is broken down into pieces of a puzzle. Quickly you will learn what CR is about. Practise from the OG and Scholaranium to get a high score.
Their Reading Comprehension is mostly a set of strategies. If you are having trouble with RC they have very nice detailed videos to help you learn how the gmat wants us to read for it.
The Live courses are available for sometime so you can catch any batch your work schedule allows you. The live lessons are a good source of confidence and they provide classroom experience. You will be able to measure your performance in competition with other students. This is very nice if you are studying alone. You also be able to understand how much time you should normally spend on any section. The live lessons compel you to study harder to be ready for the next lesson. Interaction with the instructor is really helpful. At the end of each lesson they resolve all the special queries of the students. Thank you for being close Krishna and Egmat team. If you are having problem with your tests or practice quizzes they can provide personal help with no added cost.
The course architecture is helpful in helping you learn in the quickest possible way. The videos are elaborate and industrially designed (meticulously). They are very interactive and cool to watch with many colors and images that make you feel better about studying while other courses only have a dry video with some guy mumbling..
On the downside i can definetely say that the product support ( email support) could be better. I think that this part of the company is understaffed.
Overall, a very good experience and cheap course in terms of what they offer. I would highly recommend.
My verbal score is V34. I used the Scholaranium platform only to take some quizzes because i didnt have enough time to practise harder. The verbal scholaranium is a great place to practise and analyze your self. Its a great to tool to diagnose your strengths and weaknesses. I think it's the only platform out there to give such detailed information of your sectional performance for every question type (difficulty level, average time for each level..and many more..) . You can use this tool if you had the Egmat course (the best combination ) or even if you used another course and you now want to diagnose or practise. Their explanations are very detailed and after each question you will be 100 % sure why a choice is right or wrong and this certainty is not provided by any other product or team. Their questions are exam style and they are designed to imitate the real test. They wont take you far from what the gmat asks. If fact, they must have been based on similar templates. The egmat team has used the OG to see what is tested and then made sure their students know what is needed to be learnt. All in all, great product, very good and detailed work use it dillignetly to receive a high score.
I took the gmat back in February 2017. I used the Magoosh premium product that i got from a promotion. For quant i relied solely on magoosh and i didnt even study the official guide. I left the OG for the last moment and then i skipped it. I got a Q47 only with magoosh. I used it mostly for quant in fact. The course has many theory videos that i revised 2-3 times. The course IMO is designed for beginners up to a level of Q48-49. The thing is that they are very good for this. Not all people out there are looking for a 760 and for them there is totally no reason to work on questions they will never see on the gmat. So magoosh has only some 760 level questions that a 650-700 level test taker will never face on the gmat. Someone who wants a score like that will save a lot of money if they buy magoosh and practise from it and the OG. Its not unlikely that you will get a higher score with this product, but i didnt. The course has around 700(this is only for quant) questions to practise with Video explanations that are very refreshing. I used the verbal part for practising questions from the verbal question bank. Also helpful. Generally, their practice platrform is very well designed and can help you make the quizzes you want to make, find your strenghts and zero in your weakensses.
The email support is just amazing. They will answer every question you have in regards of explaining a question or what fiction books to read for verbal practise. Their team is always there for you. (and this is rare out there especially at this price)
The course is provided for 1 year. This is special because most companies will ask a lot more money for only 3-6 months.
In the end of my 1 year subscription they were very generous to offer me a free 1 month extension until my exam !
It's a great course but it can do some things to improve. If the team adds more questions (they add questions every now and then ) the product will be even better. Also maybe they should allow students to comment under the videos and get answers from the instructors !
Overall,great price-quality relationship !
The gmatclubtests really provide you with the most suitable gmat-like questions for quant practise. Save some time to take them. Combine them with a good course to help you with theory and templates and keep grinding on the gmatclubtests !! Preferably use them as quizzes, because i found that they are hard taken as tests and might destroy your confidence. The gmatclubtests are a good source for Q50-51 questions. I know that because i messed with some questions in my test and i never got to see these Q50-51 questions. I got a Q47 actually. But now that i am going for a higher score, i believe i have found the know-how. These questions will stress you and test you to your limits without going out of the gmat concepts. They also have a big number of medium level and low level questions so if you are not aiming for the Q50, start with them. I find it very helpful to print the questions i get wrong with the expanation from Bunuel(great work) and any other explanations i like ( each question is discussed in the gmatclub where you can go easily and quickly and i usually print one -two more fast explanations for later review. A tangible error log can help.
Great work, great rescource for practice and big goals.
