IMO E

A study comparing between climate data and information about human movements and hunting patterns has concluded that human colonization was the dominant driver of megafaunal extinction across the world but that climatic factors were also important.

Skeleton of the sentence : A study comparing X and Y/ X with Y has concluded that..

A) between climate data and information about human movements and hunting patterns
Even though between is used when the entities are <2, the usage is inappropriate over here

B) from climate data to information about human movements and hunting patterns

C) among climate data and information about human movements and hunting patterns
Among is used when the entities are >2

D) climate data with that of information about human movements and hunting patterns
Incorrect comparison

E) climate data with information about human movements and hunting patterns

My answer is (E). It took me 46 seconds.

(A) While we can say "comparison between A and B", we should say "compare A with B" or "compare A to B", but not "compare between A and B".

(B) It is also wrong to say "Compare from A to B".

(C) It is already wrong to say "among A and B".

(D) "that of information" = "data of information", which is incorrect. No need to use "that of", which is indeed deleted in (E), the correct answer.

A) between climate data and information about human movements and hunting patterns -> between is incorrect to use.

B) from climate data to information about human movements and hunting patterns -> from is incorrect to use.

C) among climate data and information about human movements and hunting patterns -> among is incorrect to use.

D) climate data with that of information about human movements and hunting patterns -> that of is incorrect.

E) climate data with information about human movements and hunting patterns -> It is better.

So, I think E. :)

The structure must be " A study comparing A and B".

A) between climate data and information about human movements and hunting patterns

B) from climate data to information about human movements and hunting patterns

C) among climate data and information about human movements and hunting patterns

D) climate data with that of information about human movements and hunting patterns: that refers to data and data of information makes no sense.

E) climate data with information about human movements and hunting patterns

Pre-thinking: Idiom usage - the correct idiom usage is 'comparing X with Y'. In this context, comparing 'climate data with the information ..'. Eliminates option A, B and C.

A) between climate data and information about human movements and hunting patterns

B) from climate data to information about human movements and hunting patterns

C) among climate data and information about human movements and hunting patterns

D) climate data with that of information about human movements and hunting patterns
'that of' is not required in this statement. Here, 'with that of information = with that data of information about .. ' which is incorrect.

E) climate data with information about human movements and hunting patterns

IMO answer should be Option E.

Use of comparing in non underlined part eliminates A, B & C choices due to redundancy (between...and, from...to and among).

In D, that of has no antecedant. So not reflecting proper comparison.
E is the best choice.

A) between climate data and information about human movements and hunting patterns

B) from climate data to information about human movements and hunting patterns

C) among climate data and information about human movements and hunting patterns

D) climate data with that of information about human movements and hunting patterns

E) climate data with information about human movements and hunting patterns
