Hey,
thanks for question.

Note any presence of strong words in answer choices. Sometimes I got the right choice after reading ONLY answer choices, whithout even reading the stimulus.

Try to read it in this way.

According to a recent study, fifteen corporations in the United States that follow a credo of social responsibility are also very profitable. Because of their credos, these fifteen corporations give generously to charity, follow stringent environmental-protection policies, and have vigorous affirmative-action programs.
Which of the following can be correctly inferred from the statements above?

(A) Following a credo of social responsibility helps to make a corporation very profitable.
(B) It is possible for a corporation that follows a credo of social responsibility to be very profitable. - mild response
(C) A corporation that gives generously to charity must be doing so because of its credo of social responsibility.
(D) Corporations that are very profitable tend to give generously to charity. - debatable
(E) Corporations that have vigorous affirmative-action programs also tend to follow stringent environmental-protection policies. - scope shift

I just kept on thinking about causality when I read the stimulus.

Note how the stimulus doesn't say because corporations in the US follow a credo of social responsibility they are profitable - but rather they are also profitable.

I went for A..understand why B makes much sense...

That extra confirmation in A is not valid.
The "possible" in B makes it true with the QS.

Although B is clear , A can also be true ? nightblade354 can you please explain the reason for elimination for A ?

This is a simple correlation-causation assumption you are making. Just because these companies have something in common does not make it the cause of their collective success. We have no idea why these companies are successful, which is why (A) is wrong. Could it be true? Sure. Is it? Again, we have no idea which is why it cannot be the answer to a "must be true" question.

A, C are too extreme. (There is no causality)
D, E , we don't have evidence about "Corporations that are very profitable" or "Corporations that have vigorous affirmative-action programs".

B is the answer. (Because it states a correlation that is related to the passage and it must be true).

What is difference between ans A and B.
n Backbenchers topped the examination in the class
n Backbenchers who follow determined schedule topped the examination in the class

So, it is possible for a backbencher with determined schedule of studying time to top an examination in the class

Option B states that it is possible for a corporation that follows a credo of social responsibility to be very profitable. This conclusion directly follows from the information provided. The example of the fifteen corporations demonstrates that a company can be socially responsible and still achieve high profitability, which makes this inference valid.
