(E) struggle was due to economic inequity, bringing about the universal workers’ revolution and ending history

Mike :-)

(A) revolution that would end history is incorrect, keeping in mind the caused by used earlier in the sentence
(B) Seems good
(C) which was brought by - inappropriate
(D) we know that the class struggle was caused by economic inequality. This eliminates the usage of because of - incorrect
(E) workers' revolution and ending history - the whole event of ending history is incorrectly modified.

I would go with B

Not sure about this one.

If I remember correctly, can be checked by inserting the term "caused by" and "because of" cannot stand after a form of "to be"

A) verb is missing
B) seems good (right use of due to a after a noun)
C) verb is missing
D) because of error, as a form of be is infront of because of
E) due to seems good, but I have my doubt with logic here.

Due to is used ONLY as an adjective..
Was due to is wrong.. as due to can not modify verb was.
B is apt and appropriate .

I chose B.

We must appreciate that this is a general observation and hence is required to be stated in the simple present tense. Any mention of a past tense verb is wrong.

(A) struggle, caused by economic inequity, bringing about the universal workers’ revolution that would end history --- a fragment

(B) struggle, due to economic inequity, would bring about the universal workers’ revolution, thereby ending history --- This is a simple present tense statement using a hypothetical and subjunctive 'would' -- correct choice.

(C) struggle, which was brought about by economic inequity, causing the universal workers’ revolution that would end history --1. This is a fragment.2. ' which was ' is wrong tense

(D) struggle was because of economic inequity, and it would bring about the universal workers’ revolution and the end of history --- 'was' is a wrong tense

(E) struggle was due to economic inequity, bringing about the universal workers’ revolution and ending history-- 'was' is the wrong tense.

Choice (A) commits the famous missing verb mistake: the bonafide subject “class struggle” never gets a bonafide verb, so this is not a complete sentence on its own. Choice (A) is incorrect.

Choice (B) correctly uses “due to” to modify a noun. This version is grammatically correct and logically clear, and is a promising choice.

Choice (C) also commits the missing verb mistake: we get a complete modifying clause, but the main clause has no verb. Choice (C) is incorrect.

Choice (D) makes the mistake of using “because of” after a form of the verb “to be.” The verb modifier cannot be used as a predicate adjective. Choice (D) is incorrect.

Choice (E) is grammatically correct but a bit awkward. The “due to” structure in the predicate adjective is 100% correct. The logical relationship between the “universal worker’s revolution” and the “end of history” is unclear: they are presented side-by-side, as two different things, rather than as logically linked. Choice (E) is incorrect.

The only possible answer is (B).

Trying to attempt this question with cutting the fluff technique :

According to classical Marxism, the

(A) struggle, caused by economic inequity, bringing about the universal workers’ revolution that would end history (Incomplete sentence) WRONG
(B) struggle, due to economic inequity, would bring about the universal workers’ revolution, thereby ending history LOOKS OK and can be investigated further

(C) struggle, which was brought about by economic inequity, causing the universal workers’ revolution that would end history (Incomplete sentence) WRONG

(D) struggle was because of economic inequity, and it would bring about the universal workers’ revolution and the end of history ( Second sentence after and does not look like an Independent clause) WRONG

(E) struggle was due to economic inequity, bringing about the universal workers’ revolution and ending history Looks OK and can be investigated further

Please suggest if there are any flaws in above reasoning

E is grammatically correct but changes the intended meaning. The meanins is that struggle brings revolution that ends history. But in E it is not clear what ends history

A and C are both missing verbs. In E the event of ending history seems to be incorrectly modified. In D ‘was because’ is redundant. Thus, B is the best option.
