Ppl using mobile phones can't access OA tagged to question. It will be magnanimous of u to post it on comments section.

Oh alright. The OA is E.

Explanation:

A,B,C - Incorrect: The present progressive tense that is used is incorrect; the action is not gradual or continuing.

B,C,D - Incorrect: The use of proved itself created an awkward & illogical phrasing.

E - Correct: This answer choice uses the correct tense and clearly describes the function of the software.

Hi,
Are these official explanations ? I do not think there is any progressive tense in the options . 'tracking...' is a present participle not continuous tense as it doesn't have helping verb before it.
The reason option E is correct :
1. 'to predict' here is wrong . As there is no purpose in proving software's usefulness. The quality of software is shown , hence correct word is 'in predicting'.
