You don't have much time to worry about word count. I forget how long exactly you get but in my opinion its basically enough to form 3-5 sentences and complete a quick edit.
Answer the question in a clear concise manner, add some clarification or support for your response, then make sure what you've written makes sense and submit. That's about all you have time for.

Hey, i have already mentioned earlier in one of the posts that you can roughly have it about 2 pages. Anything more would be too lengthy and distractive

Oh sorry you are talking about the "Letter of Intent". Thought you were asking about the Kira written response. Yes for letter of intent they say not more than 2 pages. For me I went single spaced but standard margin, exactly 2 pages.

Hi all

can someone please tell me that SOP should be of approximately how many words ? No word limit is mentioned so i am not able to decide on word count.

Regards
Manish

Mine was single spaced, 1 page. If you can say everything you want to say in 1 page, then why not? But if you feel like going for more than 1 page, ensure it's all really relevant. All the best.

Hello!

Congratulations to the guys on their admit. This forum seems to be active compared to previous year.

Planning to apply too, though its a little late now. Fingers crossed.

Have one quick question, on the application portal there is a field "What program are you applying to" and the only relevant option I see is MBA (crse). Is that the one for Full-time MBA?

Cheers,
Pratik

How long is that since you replied to Eva Eberhardt?
I had a similar request from Eva (they needed transcripts from a school that I had received transfer credits from). I submitted the transcript from the institute that awarded me my degree (University of Alberta), however I was told I needed transcripts for every course for which credit was given. So I'm waiting on transcript now. I will send to Eva as soon as I recieve it, and hopefully I get some decision shortly thereafter.

It feels ages, but has only been 14 days since she accepted my documents and sent her recommendation to FGSR.

Ok I see, best of luck.
I bet my time frame is going to be delayed by 2 weeks now. Always nice to know the decision, to plan another route if necessary.

Congrats Vijay!! And thanks for confirming the time-frame since your contact with Eva. So are you going to accept U of A or are you still considering other offers?

Hi, yes i did get a reply from the U of A. I have accepted and will join the program in Fall 2016. I've sent you a PM already with my number.
The response from the FGSR (Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research) came a little more than a week after I sent additional transcripts to Eva. A few days later I got another email with more particulars directly from the Alberta School of Business.
Having done my undergrad at the University of Alberta (Mechanical Engineering) and being that I am from Alberta, the U of A seemed a natural fit for me.

Hi,

Your GMAT is above the mean score of Alberta class, so should not be a worry. Refer below response from Chris which I got on my follow up on rejection. It will give you some idea about prospects in Finance. Alberta is not known for Finance. I suggest you to get contact detail of a current student who is specializing in Finance from Chris and get some first-hand information. If you want to work in Energy sector, Alberta is your bet. Hope this helps.

"Hello Chinmay,

There were some strong aspects to your application, along with some areas of concern. The biggest concern our admission committee had with your application was overall fit. The two areas you are interested in entering (Investment Banking and Asset Management) are very difficult areas to enter, especially for individuals that don't have Canadian experience in these areas. Alberta (Edmonton and Calgary) is not a hotbed for these types of positions. I don't know what other schools you are considering, but I would suggest targeting schools around Toronto if you are looking to study in Canada.

Thanks,
Chris Lynch"
