I interviewed recently; it was very conversational- I think what Anderson is genuinely trying to get out of the interview is to get to know you, and make sure you'd "fit" in their environment. So I'd say to prepare for the Anderson interview, just make sure you can answer "Why MBA" and "Why Anderson" well (what you would do for any other MBA interview), know your story, and you should do just fine! Just be yourself.

That being said, I felt I did well when I left the admissions office, but a couple days later I was starting to look back at it and realized I could have answered a few questions slightly better. Oh well, can't do anything about it now...

Don't worry about that, I felt the same after I hung up the phone and nevertheless I was accepted few weeks later. We always feel like we could have done better...

This is for all future applicants obsessing over this year's post, as I did waiting for months for a response from UCLA...

I interviewed in the first week of R1 and did not hear anything until January 28. So if you don't hear back in the "early admission" don't freak out.

I also re-took the gmat after a 700+ attempt and failed miserably on the second attempt. They truly must have looked at my highest score as they promise on their website.

Got my R2 interview invite today! Any tips, my good people?

Thanks!

I did an interview with a second year student last Thursday. It was pretty conversational. He spent 2-3 mins telling his backgrounds and explaining the interview process. Then he went with some standard questions:
- Resume walk
- Why Anderson?
- What will you contribute to Anderson community?
- Accomplishment at work? And conflict?
- Career goals
- Why do you want to this your career path?
- What did you for Habitat for Humanity? ( I mentioned this in the resume)

This process took about 15-20 mins, which was shorter than I expected.

Then, the rest was spent questioning him.

Hope this helps.

I submitted two days before R1 deadline. Was invited to interview on Nov 7, Interviewed on Nov 26th and received decision on Jan 28.
So, do not freak out if you don't hear anything until decision date!! As you can see, you can also receive very good news then! :)

This may be a silly question, but if you are extended an interview invitation, do you choose your interview dates from a range of dates or do they pick for you?

Is there any date from which we can reasonably argue that if we still haven't been invited to interview we got dinged, or waitlisted w/o interview at best?

The e-mail I received from UCLA after I submitted my application stated that interview invites will be sent out until mid March, so I would assume March 15th is when you know whether you're dinged or WL. Still got time, but sucks to be waiting.

Glad i'm not the only one feeling this way. and worse is that there is no way to know if the application has been read and put aside or what. Good luck to all :)
