To calm people down......

R1 admit here. I interviewed early Nov and was not part of the Dec admit wave. After 1.5 month of (gruesome) waiting, I was admitted in the Jan decision date with $$$. A few other R1ers also experienced the same. So there is still lots of hope, and yes you are still considered for fellowship.

Around 70 people were admitted today (check Dean Alex's twitter #uclambawelcome). R1 and R2 should have ~300 admits each based on historical yield.

You sir....have saved my day. I can't describe my love for you at this moment.

Someone did the same to save my sanity. Im just paying this forward :)

What about R2 applicants who still haven't received an interview invite? Are they going to interview more people or is it over?

Ohh well you have been interviewed that's the best part. I saw the admission blog and it says " we are planning on completing most of the interviews through feb. though some may spill to mid-March". That is scary.. if they finish by Feb that means they must have had dispatched invites by now and I m pretty sure I wont be among the lucky March ones.

According to profiles of people who have received their invitations of interview, it looks like adcoms of the school dont prefer engineers this year.

Keep fingers crossed.

I'm an engineer and I was interviewed earlier- I don't think that would be the case, as Anderson attracts a good amount of engineers due to their great connections to the tech industry. That being said, we all have to be patient (I know, easier said than done :( )

I don't think that's true. I'm an engineering and got an early R2 interview invite. In any case, the sample size on this forum is too small to make these kinds of generalizations.

I prefer not to give up hope on receiving an interview invite, but it seems to be about time. Anyone have just cause to think interview invites are remaining for R2?

Their decision date is early April- I'd have to think they'll interview more applicants in mid-late March, meaning they'll almost for sure send out more invites in the next few weeks.

Hi,

Good news to argue my assumption, at least I dont necessarily need to be worried about the constrain. Any international applicant who has engineering background in this topic got a interview? Since CA is the Mecca of high tech, I expect those engineers from CA would have more merits than others who have similar profile. Perhaps I have a wrong assumption again.
