IMO : B

Stmt 1 : a is +ve, no information about b
not sufficient

Stmt 2 : 2(a-b) = 2

a-b = 1
a =b+1
so a and b are consecutive . Sufficient

a is greater than 0. Doesn't tell anything about b
(2) 2a – 2b = 2

2a - 2b = 2
Divide equation by 2, we get,

a-b = 1

Difference between a and b is 1. Hence a and b are consecutive integers

Answer is Option B

Target question: Are integers a and b consecutive?

Statement 1: a is a positive integer.
No information about b.
Statement 1 is NOT SUFFICIENT

Statement 2: 2a – 2b = 2
Divide both sides by 2 to get; a - b = 1
In other words, a is 1 GREATER THAN b
Since a and b are both integers, we can be certain that a and b are CONSECUTIVE
Since we can answer the target question with certainty, statement 2 is SUFFICIENT

Answer: B

Cheers,
Brent
