There are definitely some strong points in your profile. A 715 GMAT Focus score is excellent and will be competitive at the vast majority of top MBA programs. Your academic record is solid, and your leadership roles in student organizations help balance a more technical background. Your work experience also shows progression, and the combination of consulting experience and certifications such as PMP, Prosci, CSM, and Lean Six Sigma adds credibility.

That said, there are also some important gaps. I do not know your gender, nationality, level of managerial responsibility, international exposure, or the scale and impact of your work. Those details can make a meaningful difference when assessing your competitiveness.

The biggest question, though, is your previous application. Applying to four of the most selective schools in Round 2 with essays completed in just over a week is far from ideal. I have no way of knowing how strong those applications actually were. If they were rushed or did not present your story well, then being a reapplicant is much less of a concern. On the other hand, if the applications were already polished, you will need to demonstrate clear progress since last year through promotions, new achievements, stronger recommendations, a better application strategy, or other meaningful updates. If your profile has not changed much, I would also recommend adding a few new schools to your list rather than focusing only on the previous four.

Overall, I think you have a strong profile with realistic chances at top programs if your applications are executed well this time.

MiM Profile evaluation request .... Hi everyone,

I am currently looking for an honest assessment of my profile for admission to top Master in Management programs in Europe, as well as advice on the GMAT Focus score I should realistically target.
I am a second-year student at Rennes School of Business, enrolled in a Bachelor in Management and General Administration, fully taught in English. My long-term goal is to take off my father’s company, and I am now looking to pursue a strong MiM program that would give me the academic, international, and professional exposure needed to build a solid foundation.

My main target schools are:
Bocconi University – Master in Management / related management programs
IE Business School – Master in Management
HEC Lausanne – Master in Management or related programs
If i can’t get them i will target less ranked programs
My profile:
Nationality: French / EU citizen
Current degree: Bachelor in Management and General Administration, Rennes School of Business, English track
Languages: French native, English fluent/full professional proficiency, Spanish B2/C1
TOEFL: 93, although I should be exempted since my degree is taught entirely in English
GPA: 4.7/5 in the first semester of my second year, ranked 15th out of 280 students, approximately top 5% of my cohort
Second semester GPA: 4.178/5, partly because I was preparing for the GMAT alongside my studies
Exchange: Upcoming exchange at RSM Rotterdam during my third year, with a specialization in Finance

Professional experience:
4 month M&A internship at Houlihan Lokey
Internship as an executive / multi-site director assistant in an agri-food group
Projects and extracurricular experience:
Group coordinator for the “PUM Adventure Project,” a one-year project involving the creation of a fictitious company and product, later presented to a panel of judges
Participation in the “Reciprocity Project” during my second year, a six-month project carried out in partnership with an association, involving the implementation of concrete activities and close collaboration with the organization
Regarding the GMAT Focus, I am currently aiming for a score of around 615–620 or higher if possible. However, I have not studied mathematics for several years, so this is one of the most challenging parts of my application journey. The exam requires speed and accuracy, which is not naturally my strongest area, although I am practicing every day and trying to improve consistently.

To be honest, I also lack some self-confidence regarding my chances, which is why I would really appreciate an outside perspective from people who know these schools or have gone through similar admissions processes.

Based on my profile, I would be very grateful for your honest feedback on:
My competitiveness for Bocconi, IE
Your recommendation If you have any additional schools that I should target
Whether my academic profile, professional experience, and upcoming RSM exchange are strong enough for these schools

Overall, I think you have a strong MiM profile! Obviously you should apply to MIM programs in your last year or even a year post your undergrad, so you still have time...

Academically, being in the top 5 percent of your class at Rennes School of Business is a real strength, and an exchange at RSM Rotterdam will add another respected international academic experience. Your internships are also stronger than what I typically see from MiM applicants, especially the M&A internship at Houlihan Lokey. That will certainly attract attention.

Your extracurricular activities are perfectly respectable, although they are not the part of your profile that stands out the most. The bigger question for me is your story. You mention that your long term goal is to take over your father’s company, but I would want to understand why an MiM is the right next step and how your internships, exchange, and career plans connect into one coherent narrative. Admissions committees care as much about the story as they do about the individual achievements. having said that , family businesses are a big PLUS for MBA admissions...

Regarding the GMAT, I would try to score above 615 as a minimum should keep you in the conversation at many strong MiM programs, but every additional point helps. If you can push it higher, it is worth the effort.

Based on what you shared, Bocconi and IE both look like realistic targets rather than reaches. Of course, the quality of your essays and recommendations will matter, and I would still recommend applying to a balanced mix of schools rather than only your top choices.

The only thing I cannot really assess from your post is whether there are any weaknesses that are not mentioned. For example, I do not know much about your leadership experience outside the projects you listed, your personal background, or what impact you had during your internships. Those details often make the difference between a good application and an outstanding one.

You have a strong profile overall. The 332 GRE (166V/166Q) is excellent and will be an asset at any top MBA program.
What stands out most is your international experience across Africa! I LOVE IT!!! I also like the fact its across sectors - (telecom, fintech, insurance, and banking) + NGO leadership. YEA!!!.

The main thing I would want to understand better is your career progression and impact: team management, promotions, and measurable achievements matter more than employer names.

For your goal of moving from financial services into consulting, I would focus on schools with strong consulting placement and scholarship opportunities. here are some ideas:
- Reach: INSEAD, London Business School, Kellogg
- Target: IESE, Duke Fuqua, Darden, Cambridge Judge

My quick take: competitive profile for many top programs, with the biggest strengths being your GRE score, cross border African experience, and sustained leadership outside work. A well crafted consulting story will be key.

You have a strong and fairly focused profile for supply chain and operations.

Academically, the 9.4 CGPA and gold medal stand out.
Your work experience is also relevant and coherent.

Your post MBA goal also makes sense. Moving from a service provider side into manufacturing or FMCG supply chain or procurement is a natural progression, as long as you clearly explain why you want to make that shift.

The GMAT will be important here. You come from an overrepresented background and you are younger than most other applicants. A 655 plus plus plus would place you in a comfortable range for your target schools and would significantly strengthen your scholarship chances.

For NTU, SMU, and HKUST, you are broadly in the right range, with HKUST being the most competitive of the three. I would also consider adding NUS and possibly a couple of European options if you are open to geography, especially programs with strong supply chain or operations tracks.

The main area I would want to understand better is leadership and impact. That is often what separates admitted candidates from similar profiles.
