I see you have 3 target schools. In general, it is best to have 5-7 given how competitive admissions is. All of these schools are good and vary a bit in their admissions rate, which is good.

Hi apurvapotturu,

Thank you for sharing. To address your first question, you may want to consider retaking the GRE for some of your more competitive target schools like HEC and INSEAD. Have you given the GMAT a try? If quant is a strength of yours, you may perform higher here.

As for your experience to date, you will really want to demonstrate that you have sufficient leadership experience since you are on the younger end of the spectrum. This could be through your work, or through your extracurriculars.

While you have a good number of target programs, many students are now applying to 6+ schools as competition increases and acceptance rates fall. Some other potential programs to consider are IESE, NTU and IMD. School selection is a key part of Personal MBA Coach's services and we would be happy to discuss this with you in more detail in the context of your goals.

Feel free to send a note to [email protected] to talk about your application strategy in greater depth. We work with a lot of Indian applicants each year and would be happy to help set you up for success.

Best,
Personal MBA Coach

Hello hemanthreddynaini,

Thank you for sharing. You have a good mix of target schools and some interesting work experience/extracurriculars. While social impact is important to a lot of programs, Duke Fuqua heavily values it so you will really want to highlight some of your extracurriculars, such as your role with the Aditya Mehta Foundation.

As for the GMAT, have you taken any practice tests to determine where you stand? While a 740+ should position you well for these programs, it is good to know how much work you have to put in.

I do not believe you shared your age. Age, but more importantly, years of work experience will impact your candidacy, particularly at some top US b-schools. Thus, this will be useful to know.

If you are planning to apply in round 1, now is also the time to begin fine-tuning your goals and personal story. These are key components of Personal MBA Coach's services and we would be happy to provide you with personalized support.

Do not hesitate to send a note to [email protected] if you are looking to hire a consultant. We work with a lot of Indian applicants targeting both US and International MBA programs and would be happy to help maximize your chances of success!

Best,
Personal MBA Coach
