The top schools are always challenging. Your GMAT and WOE is strong. Would focus on EC/Volunteer work to make your profile distinct. More info here: https://www.personalmbacoach.com/guides/

Hello, would love a profile evaluation! Background and education: White US female, graduated from top 3 program in my field of study biomedical engineering at Georgia Tech. GPA 3.13, which is not great but Georgia Tech’s cut offs for graduating with honors was 3.15 at the time, for context. During school, I did 3 semesters of full time work in biomedical engineering and 2 semesters working part time. I also did 6 semesters of undergrad research, wrote a research thesis, and got published for a different research project in IEEE BIBE journal (high impact factor journal, but i was not primary author). Haven’t taken GMAT yet, but got 750 on official MBA.com practice test. I did well on high school standardized tests so I’m pretty sure that is an achievable score. Work experience: After graduating college, cofounded a startup for 1 year which did not succeed but had some good early traction. We went through Georgia Tech’s createX accelerator and got a Y Combinator interview but did not get in to Y Combinator. it was in the health AI space. following failed startup, I have been working in clinical research and also doing consulting for med device startups as a side hustle for 2 years. 3 years work experience total. Targeting Stanford GSB, MIT Sloan, and thinking 2025 or 2026 since I probably need more YOE and a stand-out volunteer experience or 2. Possible to get admitted?
Recommend focusing on getting a strong score on GMAT. You’ll need to be thoughtful about your WOE and how you present it in the context of your narrative. More resources here: https://www.personalmbacoach.com/guides/

Responding here as I am getting many questions about which schools are the best fit / reaches.

Overall, the top schools are always challenging to get into. We work with clients to improve admission rates and receive scholarships. Last year, our clients earned over $10M in scholarships.

For the top schools, it’s important to show: academic/intellectual horsepower (GPA and test scores), work experience that shows you have leadership potential, EC and Volunteer work that breaks your profile out and distinguishes you.

Also, schools like to see that you are really passionate about the school and have done your research. Great to mention specific programs, classes/professors, etc to show you know the school and would be a great fit there.

on the EC front, am active as an artist doing painting exhibitions and helping other artists come together for exhibitions. So, a combo of top Aero org, patents/trade secrets/winning many innovation contests and productizing the idea along with being an artist and helping art community is still not enough for M7s??
