Hello, I would like to know what my chances are at M7 schools.

Indian Female, Mechanical Engineer, 730 GMAT ( Q49 V40 ) , undergrad GPA - 8.5/10, already have a masters degree in mechanical engineering in the US.

Work experience:
4 years as an emissions certification engineer for an engineering consultant called FEV in Detroit, Michigan.
No promotions as it is a flat hierarchy but a significant increase in responsibilities.
One of them include mentoring interns and less experienced engineers on the testing procedures and also train all the engineers of the company on the new regulations.

Extra curriculars:
very passionate about advocating for more women in engineering and business, human rights, LGBTQ rights etc.,

1) An active member of society of women engineers local chapter. Served as a chair for the awards committee for FY 2021-2022.
Still An active volunteer with the organization.

2) An active member of an organization called Human Rights Campaign to advocate for LGBTQ

3) An active member of a local democratic club and volunteered rigorously during the last election season.

GMAT is compelling and so are EC’s. Focus on the narrative around WOE and growth/potential given your company is more flat.

GRE: 309 (155V, 154Q) and hopeful to surpass 320 during retake

Work experience and leadership:
- Industry: Energy and Sustainability Consulting
- Current position: Risk Manager at F500 company
- Work ex and progression: 4.2 years (Analyst: 24 months -> Senior Analyst: 5 months -> Consultant: 17 months -> Risk Manager: 7 months). I was promoted 3 times during my work ex at current company.
- In my current role, I am managing commodity risk for multinational clients (around 60). I also manage Interns and Analysts.
- Multiple summer internships during UG

Community and others:
I am passionate about mentoring and have volunteered with multiple organizations over the last 10 years.
- Lead Employee Resource group at my company (around 3.5 years)
- Manage recruitment (internship and full-time) from my alma mater (1 year)

Post MBA goals:

Short-term: I want to do corporate strategy/operations consulting at MBB.
Long-term: Given my extensive energy and sustainability background, I am interested in continuing in strategy consulting or moving to the industry to do sustainability strategy at a Fortune 100 company.

Questions?
• What if I do not get 320+ in GRE? Do I still have a shot? Should I still apply in R1 with less than 320 in GRE or wait to get it up maybe apply in R2?
• People’s management: I manage interns and Analysts but on a dotted line. Would this count?

It’s possible, I think the limited work experience will be challenging as that’s very important for business schools.

You could apply R1 and then share new score for R2.

Hello, I had a few questions:
1. I had a 2.94/4 GPA in uni (B.Sc Economics) and had a few backlogs (re-exams) - will this hamper my chances in even considering T20 schools? Is there any such criteria based on which I am not eligible?
2. I am currently working in the social impact space- what schools would favour women in social impact as their potential candidates?
