Hi soumyadeeppaul1,

From this initial post, it's not clear whether you're just beginning your studies or you've been studying for some time. As such, you might find it useful to start a new post-thread and describe your situation in more detail. For example, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Most GMAT Companies offer some type of free materials (practice problems, Trial Accounts, videos, etc.) that you can use to 'test out' a product before you buy it. We have a variety of those resources at our website (www.empowergmat.com). I suggest that you take advantage of all of them, then choose the one that best matches your personality, timeline and budget.

Thank you for this post - it is very insightful!

What would be the best course to improve speed on the GMAT (quant mainly) in a 3 week span?

Hi AayushiMadani,

Many Test Takers face pacing issues in the Quant section, the Verbal section or both – so you are not alone. However, it's important to remember that pacing problems do NOT exist on their own - they're the results of OTHER problems. To define what those other issues are and why they're occurring, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals. You'll likely receive more of a response if you start a new post-thread in the General Questions and Strategies forum (instead of piggy-backing on this large on):

https://gmatclub.com/forum/general-gmat ... ategies-1/

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) How many questions do you typically have to rush through to finish each section on time?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

I am aiming for a 750+ score, I'll be getting an online program to help me study methodically and thoroughly. My goal is top b-schools.

English is my second language. Math is a forte (actual calculations) but I have several problems with the wording of the problems, to turn them into actual math which make me falter or flat out crumble. I believe I have very strong logic base but even then I do quite bad on verbal online tests (I've only done the quick 10 question ones, but almost always get at most 1, maybe 2 right; sometimes even 0).

For studying I currently have:
Full OG 2021 + 1 year access on Wiley App
OG 2021 Advanced Questions
Full 6th Edition 0-9 Manhattan Guides
7th Edition Foundations of Math MGMAT
7th Edition Foundations of Verbal MGMAT
7th Edition Advanced Quant MGMAT
GMAT 13 Edition Review (was a gift, not really in use if not needed)

I don't have the investment for private tutoring, so I'm trying to decide amongst two:

1) Full e-gmat online course, so that I can do both quant and verbal on only one platform; and complement with the books that I already have in case there is something that is not covered on the site (which I hope is not the case).
2) E-gmat for verbal (which is their strong suit from what I've read) + Math Revolution for quant since they're a specialized platform which gives me a kind of comfort to know that they MUST be the best in quant.

Would you please give me your personal recommendations on the subject, If you have actually lived the platforms even better. If you have any other study plan recommendations or platform combinations, they'd be really appreciated.

And thank you to GMAT club for this space. Beautiful.

what about Prepscholar, is it considered a good course?

Not very familiar with that one... Is that the one that is only available on the app? Does it have any reviews? What specifically got your attention in that course?

Posted from my mobile device

bb I was thinking of purchasing the Prepscholar course and so I decided to do some research on it. I found this site https://www.test-guide.com/best-gmat-prep-courses.html that compared 5 courses including Manhattan Vertitas and Prepscholar. I was shocked to see a lower rating for Manhattan and Veritas as compared to the rest so... I'm not too sure if I can trust this source. Could you please have a look at it?

I've exhausted most of the OG and QR questions for quant and OG and VR along with a few LSAT questions for verbal. I've come a long way with my prep but I still have room for improvement.

I'm looking for a course that could provide me with good practice questions while at the same time offer a good solution set for the same.

Please could you take 2 min of your time to check Prepscholar and let us know your views?

Thank you :)

Hello bb,

I got a 510 at the GMAT exam I took last week (after having studied all the Manhattan GMAT books) and I need to strongly improve it to get a +670 in two month and half.

I understand that The Economist GMAT Tutor is interesting. What I need is more strategy, I think that I have the basis after having studied the books.
However, in the GMAT course reviews of gmatclub, I see that all the comments about The Economist are talking about ExamPAL. I know that the new method of the Economist GMAT Tutor is based on PAL but is it 100% the same as the ExamPAL offer? Indeed, I cannot find a place in the course reviews where people are talking about The Economist as such.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Adri1,

To start, you would likely receive more responses if you started your own new post/thread (instead of just posting in this one). Before I can offer you the specific advice that you're looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) Did you take the At-home GMAT or did you take your GMAT at a Test Facility? What were your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores?
2) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
3) What study materials have you used so far?
4) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

If you took your GMAT at a Test Center, then you might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.

Hi!

I'm looking for a GMAT Foundation Course for Quant preferably online/ebooks. Any recommendation? I need a major refresher on quant as I have been working full time for 11 years. I'm looking at 4-6 months to prepare for the GMAT.

Thanks in advance!

I would recommend evaluations Math Revolution and TTP. Both have different approaches and diff philosophy. Should be easy to choose!

Since you are looking specifically for quant at a foundation level I guess TTP is the best option that you've got. Building upon the foundations of quant is probably what defines TTP. I guess they offer a $1 trial. You could sign up for that and get a better understanding of the course. But if you are looking to build your conceptual understanding on each topic in quant, I believe you won't regret signing up on TTP.

You could also PM ScottTargetTestPrep for better clarity.

I took the GMAT and scored a 700 after 5 weeks of study (45Q 41V 7IR). I'm really looking for a great scholarship from a top 15 university, and so I'd like to re-take to get into the 740-750 range. I've tried e-gmat's free trial, but given that I'm a native english speaker, I'm not sure that's the best option (maybe I'm totally wrong). Score guarantees are very attractive to me because the last thing I want to do is invest time and money for it to not pan out to a greatly improved score. I've read amazing things about TTP, but they don't offer a score guarantee like e-GMAT or others. Additionally, I'm having a hard time finding a program whose score guarantee qualifies for 700 level base scores. Any thoughts/input on which course/material would be best for me?

If you are looking for a score guarantee program then you can look into GMATPrepNow.com BrentGMATPrepNow is amazing with his concepts. He has some free videos put up on his website. That could probably give you some further clarity.

You basically need a course that could help you improve your quant. You already have a fabulous V41 so you don't have to worry much on the Verbal section.

TTP may not have a score guarantee but, I believe, they could help you clear your concepts on the quant section. You can anyday PM ScottTargetTestPrep and get some more guidance on the same.

GMATWhiz is relatively new in the Market but they have some great stats w.r.t the average score improvement. You could take a trial and see if that works out for you.

I'll conclude by repeating what I stated earlier. Focus on improving your quant score. Because it will be much easier to jump from a Q45 to a Q48/49 than a V41 to a V43/44

I beleive with a Q49V41 you should easily cross the 730 margin

Hello there! I took my first GMAT test 10 days ago after study it for six weeks, and I got 45Q, 24V, a total 570. Since I'm not a native English speaker, I did really bad on the Verbal part. I plan to retake it next month and I am aiming for the 650-680 range. So do you guys have any recommendations for which programs I should take?

I believe the famous eGMAT would be a great fit for you. They have structured the course keeping non-native English speakers. They have a one month free trial. You can sign up on that and get a better understanding of how the course works.

You could also check out EducationAisle. Ashish, through his online classes, does a phenomenal job in explaining the key concepts of SC, CR and RC. I'd recommend you to get on a call and have a word with him. It's not a "private tutoring" course but it feels just like one. I believe the personal attention that Ashish would provide you could help you achieve a lot more than what you asking.

Thank you for your advice. Before I took my first GMAT test, I studied approximately 5-7 hours each day (35-40 hours a week). I have been using the OG, Manhattan Prep books, and GMAT club as the main study materials. For the mock tests, I took the mock one week before the real test and I got a 600(Q49 V 23). For the business schools, I am aiming for UC Irvine, UC San Diego, and UC Davis.
