Using the OG alongside guidebooks worked quite well for me. This allowed me to reinforce the material learned from the guides while it was still fresh in my memory.

Also, remember to fully review every OG question that you attempt. In other words, don't simply answer the question and then move on after checking the answer. That's too passive. Read the entire explanation even if you answered the question correctly. If incorrect, mark it and reattempt the question later that day. Extract the most value out of the OG.

A lot of people end up picking the wrong metric to assess their performance on the OG (and the overall GMAT preparation).
