Hey everyone
I've never posted on one of these things. Hardly monitor them actually. Until it's about decision day. I've never had anything meaningful to contribute until today. So I thought I'd share my situation and pay it forward.
I applied Round 1 to Kellogg and Booth. Got waitlisted at both.
As most of you know today is Kellogg's decision day, obviously you know tomorrow's is Booth's. I just got a call from a Chicago number and thought it'd be Kellogg actually. But as it turns out, it was someone from Booth congratulating me for getting in. They said they like to give people a call the day before.
I saw similar things on the Kellogg waitlist thread, that some people were getting calls Monday or Tuesday. So it looks like this is a similar situation.
Because I've seen people follow up to posts like these with questions about what the person did since being waitlisted, I'll briefly share what I've done. It's pretty basic. I submitted a 1:03 video of me sitting in front of my computer camera and talking a little about my recent promotion as well as my continued interest in the school. The other thing that happened between then and now was a Booth MBA from my firm, who I work with a little but not a lot, sent an email to the admissions team, without me asking (he also sent one between Round 1 application deadline and decision, which I requested from him), I don't even know what he put in it. I honestly don't even have confirmation they ever got it. But I'll assume it helped somewhat. But at no time did I personally reach out to the school and ask for feedback or anything, and never did they ever call me until today. I think the lesson here is not to try and read any tea leaves. Everyone's situation is different.
That's my story. Very relieved of course.
Good luck to you all.
