Hey, I have worked a total of 9 months outside India, and most of my work was with international offices, quite an international work environment, one of the LoRs was from an Italian manager

so I don’t think that was it

in fact I speak French too so

Yes, but from what I can see online, interview acceptance rate is quite high (70%+)?

[email protected], I doubt it. AFAIK, interviews are more of a fit check, interviews alone can’t be the deciding factor. Like sure if someone does really bad then rejection is possible but overall, the application has other aspects that probably matter more

I’d second with Kunal. However, bare in mind that the application in its entirety is reviewed by a more senior adcom members after the interview and not before (this is what I have been told, however it might be wrong). Although, Interviews are an integral part of the application, its the essays, LORs, Scores, International experience that weighs more.

I think at the end of the day, regardless of how good a profile is, they also have to consider a diverse set of profiles, they probably also look for candidates who they think can easily make their career shift without much trouble, etc. Because obviously, the school wants to show how diverse it is and what percentage of its graduates got a job within 3 months, etc.

There are probably a ton of other such factors that lie completely outside a candidate’s control. Sadly, The process isn’t favorable to certain demographies.

I personally think alumni interviews especially may not hold so much weight compared with adcom interviews. I mean alumni can have various factors/reactions out of control of the school including personal biases etc. Also, all alumni are unique and can have a different reaction to the same candidate. I think the purpose is just to see if you are realistic, fit for Insead, and ability to explain decisions on the CV. It will only be a deciding factor if it goes very bad but not much of a factor if it goes very good imo. The admission committee will decide finally that consists of half professors and half alumni.
