So waitlist is only AFTER the interviews and Adcom review, right? There is no concept of waitlist before the interview selection decision, is that right? So its either a straight yes or no post initial application submission for ’Interview calls’?

Yes I think if you didn’t get the interview invite. It’s most likely a ding.

Ghislain, only Wed and Thursday is a public holiday? So perhaps we will hear on Friday (it does seem they do send quite a few results on that day anyways).

Based on previous comments, now I understand that even if you are invited to interviews and your interviews went well, you still can be rejected. The result is somehow unpredictable

Most who get interviewed do get in - getting interview invite looks like the highest bar.

­Hi bschool2021,

that's right. You can only be waitlisted after the interviews.

That being said, some applications might be put on hold before interviews. This happens when the AdCom believes you are a good candidate but would like you to increase your test scores, e.g. GMAT, GRE, TOEFL... So, while you retake the test, your application is put on hold until you provide a satisfactory score. When you do so, you're automatically considered for the application round open at that moment, and you can get the interview invite for that round.

­Hi Ghislain,

being rejected after the interviews is always a possibility.

However, as tldr1000 said, the hardest filter is the interview selection. Most of the rejections come before interview. After interview, the most common outcomes are accepted and waitlisted. But some applicants are indeed rejected as well.

Interviewers simply submit a recommendation. Whether the AdCom follows it, that's a different story. So, yes, even if the interviews went "well", you could still get rejected.
