Do you mean 2nd round applicants are much more than 1st round or compared to last season. Any source?
Booth generally has second year students and alumni conduct the interviews with a set of questions they’re supposed to ask + digging in on additional points that come up in the interview. The interviews are performed blind, so the interviewer doesn’t have any of your application materials other than your resume.

Yes I had a client get rejected after interview by Duke and then get Wharton with $ - and this happens all the time, rank does not matter as much as fit, and do you fit with their needs in shaping the class.
